Just got off the phone with the sales manager at the local dealer. Says they got a second allocation and my order is going in today. Just trying to understand why i can't get heated seats in a NON-recaro convertible with the Performance Pack. Are the heated seats only available to people who get ZERO option cars? thanks for any insights. BTW - i switched to Recaros since he assured me the matrix would not allow him to order the heat seats and the PP together.

New rear rubber for 2007

When I bought the car last fall and had it inspected I was told that I had 4 years of rubber on the front, but only 1 on the back. Well, it seems that a year passes quickly. I really need some new rubber on the back. I have done lots of research both here and on consumer reports. Right now I am getting a lot of road noise and I believe that some of that is coming from the worn tires. I would like something quieter with a better ride. My car is my daily driver so I need a tire that will stand up and not need replacing after 5,000 miles.

Right now I am honed in on the Michelin Pilot Sport (101Y) BSW in the stock size of 285/40/18. Also the Continental Extreme Contact and the Yokohama Advan Sport.

Any thoughts before I pull the trigger???

Thanks,

reverse sensors

Does anyone know if these will fit on our 13 shelbys?

http://www.americanmuscle.com/rear-bumper-parking-sensor.html'

I know it says excludes shelbys but look at these pictures to see the rear bumpers.

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/1205_2013_ford_mustang_v_6_premium_first_test/large_photo_02.html

this is a v6 with the sensors from ford on right on the lower bumper but above the rear "valance/diffuser"

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/coupes/1111_2013_ford_shelby_gt500_and_2013_mustang_lineup/large_photo_18.html

Here is a shelby from the same angle. I don't understand why the sensors wouldn't be able to fit in literally the exact same place on the shelby as they do on the v6, which would be right above the rear diffuser on the bumper. If anything I think they would fit easier since it looks like there is slightly more room in that section of the rear bumper.

Any ideas why americanmuscle says it doesn't fit? I have wondered why ford didn't include these on shelbys along with the rear camera. I know the rear camera doesn't work because our spoiler angle is different. But why on earth wouldn't these work they mount in the exact same spots.

Any input is appreciated thanks.

2011+ Owners, Who would be interested in the Boss Side Pipe Exhaust?

I'm trying to put all of the pieces together to offer the Boss Side Exhaust kit that would require some minor cuts to the stock exhaust. We will take the Boss Side exhaust kit and make modifications to it and provide it as a complete kit. The modifications will require cutting and welding and additional clamps that will be done in house before sending the kit out to the end user.

I've gotten a couple of inquiries from folks and in order to make it worth the effort it will require a minimum of 15 to 20 people and/or kits.

I am still in the final phases of identifying overall cost. Suffice to say it will exceed the base cost of the kit as seen on some websites for $799.00. Possibly in the $899 to $999 cost range plus shipping.

Post up your screen name if you are interested and quote the list and add your screen name and let's start a list.

If we can meet the minimum goal I can put it up on my website and then you will be able to order the kit and make payment. Turn around on the kits will be 2 to 3 weeks after the initial orders.

Thanks in advance.

FS: MAC/MMS Mufflers purchased a few months ago new from Alex - Vapor08GT500 / Mackenzie Mustangs. Many posts here on TS regarding these mufflers and their specs. They sound great, just a little too loud for what I want on my GT500. Not they are obnoxious sounding, just for my taste, I need closer to stock without using the stockers, etc. The sound is tight with no crackling and they sound real nice on the throttle and downshifting.

They were installed professionally and have L/T 100 miles on them. I will send pics if needed, PM me with any questions. I think this is a fair price considering new ones are $599 and these are like new and kept in a climate controlled garage.

Transmission and Differential Overflow

I like to take my car out to Shelby events and some local events and run it around the track a few times. I have noticed that on our local track in Fontana CA, that i get fluid coming out of the transmission and the differential over flow tubes. My initial reaction is to replace the fluid with higher temp fluid.

Any thoughts out there.

Removing the lower grille

Does anyone know how to remove the lower grille from an '08? There are several tabs and none of them seem to want to let go without a lot of prying. I just don't want to damage the bumper cover (of course).

I've seen a few threads where people mention it's a pain, but no suggestions as to how to do it. My bumper cover is already off the car, so that step is done

Get out of the attic!

As a few of you know, I have been out of the attic going to events. (No one has caught me yet!) You also know I'm not shy about speaking my mind when I hear things concerning the 40th cars. Two weeks ago I was asked why a 40th owner was wiping his car down every 15 minutes and treating it like is was the only Shelby in the world. But that is how many of us feel about our 40ths. Also heard comments on the group picture taken at the bash....you know the finger thing. I don't think this is the image Carroll had in mind.

I talk to many people around the country and pretty much hear how the 40th people are stuck up about their cars. We aren't stuck up, just very proud of them. Two years ago if some member posted something on the 40th forum there would be a nice response. Lately Tlitz, Bob and Blondiepa have made comments and not one person has had anything nice to say. I think we are all better than this, don't you? Lets put the fire back into being a 40th owner. I saw this coming a couple of years back and discussed it with Bob. This is one of the reasons why we came up with Team 40th.

The attic thing and stepchild thing was funny at the time but it has gone too far. We are the first post-title car owners ( not the GT-H, they were titled after they left SAI ) and should step up and show our pride, (not our butts), like we used to. Let's put some fun back in this forum! I will be leaving for Carlisle in two weeks and all I hear from my non-40th friends is how I have to park with "those guys" (40ths). I'm looking forward meeting some of you 40ths for the first time and showing everyone they are wrong and we really DO do a lot more than just talk about our cars. We have all done individual mods that makes our cars very special; there is not one better than the other, they are all unique. Bob has spent much time and money showing his car on the East coast, and I'm looking forward having a good time with him and all you other 40th owners.

Some of you might think I'm crazy for posting this but you might not be aware of what is going on off the radar. All you have to do is look at this forum to see there is little enthuiasm for 40ths overall, except for a certain group. Only a handful of the 312 40th owners are active on this forum. Where have all the fun-loving 40th owners gone???

I hope I haven't offended anyone, or hurt any feeling, but I feel it is past time to comment. If you want to talk, I will be at Carlisle with "those guys" having a great time. See you all there

Rain is a bad thing

So it rained all day today while I was it work. 7A to 7P. Pull out of work with my heat defrost on and as I'm turning left onto the main road I hear what seems to sound like water running into my floor board. Sure enough, water is pouring into my passenger side floor board. Turn the defrost off and it seems to quit. Stopped and dried what I could up with some shop towels I had in the car. It was a lot. Didn't notice it leaking anymore on the way home but of course before I hit the twisty part of the road before my house my windshield was fogging up So I turned the defrost on again. Every turn I went around, left or right, water would gush into the floor board. That being said I'm not sure if it does it with the defrost off or not. I'm guessing it might be the cabin filter or something? Not sure, but it's coming from right behind the glove box. This isn't the first time it's been in or drove in the rain. Any ideas or should I just go to where I got it and raise cane even thou they aren't a Ford dealer????? This is silly
