Now let's see if the cops can really do what they are paid to do. They need to act fast so it doesn't get chopped up. Will keep an eye out here for illegal parts. Sorry about that bud. :rant2:

Never thought I'd see this posted here, but I guess if they can get the keys then the alarm is useless. Makes me want to put a gps device on the car where it can't be noticed for tracking purposes. Some theives just don't care.

That :censored: sucks! Sorry to hear this, had this car been any other color then the fastest color the cops might have a chance to catch them. Did you have additional mods done to the car? How much fuel was in it? the max they can go is 300 miles on a full tank. again sorry for the damage to your house/home & what transpired, but those things can be fixed/replaced & the main thing is you & your family are out of harms way. keep us posted.

I would keep your hopes up. Too many video cameras around these days. I guarantee a satellite/traffic/gas station cam or something snapped a pic somewhere. That's where I would begin digging.

I posted this last month. It's about Fords "SMART ALERT" works like OnStar & Lojack for locating your car.

SMART ALERT HELPS MAKE NEW & USED FORD, LINCOLN and MERCURY VEHICLES MORE SECURE

http://media.ford.co...rticle_id=27803

http://www.myskyway....smartalert.html

demos here -> http://www.myskyway....yway_demos.html

By Mike Thomas, FCN

Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealerships have begun offering security-conscious customers a new onboard, intelligent communication service that connects them with their car or truck. This optional system, SmartAlert, provides vehicle tracking and other security and peace-of-mind features vehicle owners say they want. It is available for most new and some previously owned vehicles.

With SmartAlert, owners can track their vehicle's location through wireless technology. The system shows the vehicle's location online, by email, phone, and through text messages and in the event of theft, it helps police locate the vehicle.

SmartAlert is built by SkyWay Systems, which joined Ford to announce an agreement to license the accessory through dealers at this year's National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) annual convention in Las Vegas.

More than 1.2 million vehicles are stolen in the United States each year and nearly 40 percent of them are never recovered. While vehicle tracking's main value is in locating stolen vehicles, the feature provides additional benefits.

"SmartAlert is a great service for owners who want to protect their vehicles from theft, parents who want to monitor teenage drivers and small-business owners who need to track the whereabouts of their vehicles," said Dr. Robert Yandrofski, Chairman & CEO of SkyWay Systems, Inc.

The system can issue an early alert to vehicle theft through a feature SkyWay calls an "invisible fence" around the vehicle. This feature alerts SkyWay of any unauthorized movement of the vehicle. Owners set or disable the feature through the SmartAlert web site.

Subscribers can also set speed alerts. When the vehicle exceeds a pre-set maximum speed, a notification is sent by email or text message. SmartAlert can also trigger remote door lock and unlock, either through a command module or from Skyway. One obvious benefit is unlocking a door when keys have been inadvertently locked in the car.

Included in the system is a monthly status report that can display vehicle locations on days and times during the month.

The SmartAlert system is sold and installed by Ford and Lincoln Mercury dealers. Retail price for the system will be approximately $999 and includes a 12 month subscription to the service. After the intial 12 months, a monthly subscription fee is necessary to continue the service.

While SmartAlert competes most directly with LoJack and General Motor's OnStar systems, SmartAlert has the additional benefit of complimenting Ford SYNC. Vehicle location information or speed alerts, for example, can be communicated by voice or text cell phone messages, both being hands-free for drivers using SYNC.

I've had my house broken into before and it leaves you feeling EXTREMELY vulnerable. Definitely hope the best for you, but I wouldn't rely on the cops. I'd be calling gas stations that are close and any other business/houses close by to see if you can get a lead on which way he went. Hell I'd even be calling the FBI to see if I could get some satellite photos!

House was broken into today and my car was stolen. White with Blue stripes. Arizona plate number ZKD-526. I guess this info would only be useful for local members here. Thanks.

Does your registration state Mustang 2D Coupe (Mustang 2 door coupe), followed by the color and so on.....or does it specifically state Shelby GT500? For all Shelby owners, see if you Bureau of Motor Vehicle will allow registering under the generic Mustang name and not model specific. Also, any neighbors or friends, acquaintance with a jealous or "quick payoff" mindset who wouldn't waste the time in stealing your car? Give those "person's of concerns" names to the Detective assigned to your case. And finally, your GT500 has a pretty robust security system that makes it rather difficult for the average criminal to crack. Again, working with your assigned Detective, give them your digital key info so they can run against the dealership to ensure it wasn't an inside job of cloning keys. For all of you Shelby owners, google Land Air Sea's websites 8100 model and the verizon service plan choices. Q: Can I use the GPS tracking system 8100 as a theft recovery system? Yes. Since the GPS tracking system 8100 has the capability of second by second transmission and geo-fence functionality, this GPS tracking system is a sound choice for theft recovery applications. You got up to 5 days to find you car. It's so small, only you will know where it is. You own the system, the system doesn't own you and big brother has no hands in this equation. At the moment of victimization have Law Enforcement log into your system so they can track and capture the criminal. Because it's web based, they can log on and visually follow the car without having to work through a third party over the phone walk them through -- a turn by turn description(like On-Star). If your Police force have up to date Mobile Date Terminal in their cruiser's (i.e. computers) having internet capability, as soon as it's stolen, that officer assigned to that beat area can log in and follow the cars whereabouts with your permission immediately. Help them help you. The best capture is while the crook behind the wheel, seals up the case rather nicely. If your LE agency doesn't have the tools to fight this crime, don't blame the cop.

Did it appear they targeted the car, or just came across it? Might help the police if they know where to direct their search. I've always said it would be great halftime entertainment to take these type of people and send them thru an 80,000 person gauntlet. I'd even start going back to sporting events, be worth the $. GOOD LUCK, hope they get them before they damage it, that would be extremely painful to see.

It has been 5 hours since the police have been called and no response yet. I was told as soon as they are free they will show up. Car was in the garage. Key was in a drawer in the kitchen. Did not touch any other car stuff, stole some DVD's and a new floor jack that did not work. I had not gotten a chance to exchange it yet. No lojack or nav in my car. If the police never show up I assume those items are useless anyway.

When we got our new house alarm installed, I had another contact installed for the garage door .......it goes up even 1 inch with the alarm activated, they better hurry and steal as the cops are on their way. Many people have alarms, very few use them and those that do, many don't have them monitored UNTIL it happens to them...............YES, it happened to us and that's when we upgraded and purchased monitoring too......it's worth it.............and my car stays locked in the garage too. I also bolted a plate at the ext of the house blocking my phone connection so they can't cut it. They want my house again, they have to work for it, bottom line now, there is easier prey out there now but not mine

Start looking for a new car and give your insurance the heads up...........do your homework, the innocent most often get screwed. Not sure how it works in your area but after 30 days here, it's gone, insurance pays out. If it was me, I wouldn't want it back now anyways........they're beating on it.
I honestly don't think they'll find it, it's not like tv, to me, cops are just revenue collectors and I have little respect for them in doing what they should be doing.

Best of luck

FastFords sorry about your lose. We have also had are place broken in to many years ago. I am very carefull not to leave the Mustangs out in the drive way or even the garage door open so people can walk buy or drive by and see what you have in your garage. All it takes is one BAD person to see something they want and they will check the place out to see when you are there and when your not there. With my wife being handycapped I would hate to have to shot someone ( DEAD) who is breaking into are Castle. I will keep the faith that they find your car But like many others have said Say good by to it because it is not the same anymore and start looking for another one :happy feet: . Good luck. God bless

Got any friends in the Radio/TV business? Have them help you get the word out...

I'd also get the word to the local speed shops too. Let them know about your car and that the Police are on the trail (even if they aren't)...

Finally, check out the local nighttime "street racing" hangouts... or even the local drag strips... might find it there.

Good Luck!

Very unfortunate...stolens are low priority calls. It will probably be placed on the their stolen sheet and circulated the next day. White Shelbys won't be to hard to find, but thieves won't waste any time and take it across the boarder (i.e. Cali?) if they have a buyer in mind. Stealing DVDs, electronic games, meds, money, guns, credit cards, debit cards, jewelry etc...are items taken by amatuers and are usually nearby the site of the crime. Usually young teens because juvenile laws aren't as harsh as if charged by an adult. Sick nonetheless. He (or they) would have had to have known your routine, when you left for work, when the house was vacant and no neighbors around to witness the deed. Check "you tube" or "My Space" to see if these amatuers posted the deed as they so often like to do (especially some prize like a Shelby). How much gas did you have in the car? Guesstimate the distance and map it. Draw a circle and look for garages, dealerships, public parking spots, then recon the area. Take your other key and start hitting your alarm button out the window of your car. If you hear it, it must be yours. You might as well forget the license plates, first thing to go. If your Detectives are on top of it, any newly "temp" registered white Mustangs will certainly be worth investigating. More likely than not, the fear of getting caught with a Shelby will probably force them to dump the car somewhere public. Good luck.

House was broken into today and my car was stolen. White with Blue stripes. Arizona plate number ZKD-526. I guess this info would only be useful for local members here. Thanks.

That sucks!

FastFords, so sorry to hear this ...this really sucks. Too many scumy low-life :censored: out there!

You might want to post your VIN here on the site and on other forum sites. Ask Sharon or a mod to make that thread sticky for a couple months. Anyone who goes to shows might check any white shelbys they see. Since you don't know whether this was a joy-ride or a whether they plan to part-out the car it's important to go see the local police and the state police. Give them all information Airborne was saying: how much fuel, key#s, VIN, etc. Also, call Ford customer service and get any unique numbers for major components: for example, they know the Tremec tag# and engine tag numbers. Those are the two pieces these :censored: will try to fence first. The detectives can't tell you anything if they don't know they were from your car.

It sounds like they broke into your house just for the keys since not much else was taken, so the car was the target. That will help detectives look in the right places (chop shops not joy rides, etc.)

If the miles are still very low on your car, check with state AG's office (or your attorney) if there are statutes obliging insurance companies to do a new-replacement/full-replacement-value if under a certain milage. Your insurance company may also have specific policy provisions.

Good luck! Where abouts in AZ are you??? There are 100 members for every logged-in member (TS has nearly 20,000 members!) and there are even more unregistered browsers. If folks know where to look and have a VIN, you just might find it. Wish you the best!!

Dan

In the past I uesd to put an under-dash switch on the 12v coil wire from the ignition, so the car won't start. On these cars where everything is ECU controllled, switching the fuel pumps is probably better-- most thieves will abandon a car quickly if it mysteriously stops running 20 seconds after they fire it up or if it just kicks and won't start (at worst a smoked starter).

That is one horrible way to get one under MSRP. Grand theft auto should do nicely on their list of convictions. Have faith man, you will have another one, just not as soon as you like.

I'm very sorry to hear about this.

I think this could happen to most any of us, sadly.

Best of luck to you & yours.
