Ok Mustang obsession would be a huge understatement for me. I love the small block ford v8 sound and feel, but i also love the gas mileage of the new 2005< models.Anyways I keep going back and forth deciding whether or not to buy a new 2008 shelby gt 500, 2007 Shelby GT, or just making a 1968 Fastback Mustang with a modern engine and transmission and rear end. Well my mods are pretty simple IRS, Coil Over Suspension ,Rack and Pinion Steering, side exit exhaust, the 5.4L with 6 speed transmission or a 4.6L with a 5 speed or a 6 speed. Well my question is, is it possible to use the modern engine and transmission and use the classic gauge cluster have them work properly or does the modern engine need the modern gauge cluster? If not...then that sucks, but I'm definitely buying a new Shelby. Thanks for the help
