Most of the originals are left. But only about 100 original cars were produced! That 100+ cars made a pretty big splash. Like you, I have admired the new production Superformance GT40s. I think the Ford GT is currently a better buy as pristine 4000 mile Red GTs can be had for $135,000 in this lousy economy.
The originals and the Superformance cars are tight, hard and fast.
The Ford GT is tight, hard and fast and has air conditioning and a wicked stereo.
When I drive the Cobra, I don't need a radio. I just smile at the pipes. I'm sure a real GT sounds just like that.
