Unfortunately the stripes at Shelby American are not my stripes.

They are torch red... What's the difference? They look the same as in your pics...

:headscratch:

Was thrilled when I saw them. And I got to use my TS $10 off card.

I like this too... Very nice!
Red definitely pops. :superhero:

I played with red pinstripping down the le mans stripes and something was wrong. I think it needed the white contrast to standout and show the red. Now that I have the pit stripes my desire to do this has faded.

Bump

Can I ask what high flow cats you are running, where you go them and your thoughts on them?

Is there a power gain? (i.e. much better flow)
Was it much louder with the new cats on?
Are there other considerations such as any relocating of items such as sensors?
Any tune considerations or will the computer take care of it?

I have the magna flo system.....a fair bit louder at throttle, but I also have the corsa exhaust....but no droning. I think a fair amount more power, but only the seat of the pants to say that....this seems to be technically required once you go to fairly high boost levels......as far as tuning....my existing tune already was struggling with a couple of changes I had made, and this drove it over the edge (idle surging, and eventual hanging up).....I would say put em on and see how it goes....it really depends on how your tune is set up as far as how well it will adapt to this.

added...pretty easy bolt in, we did have to bend a hanger a bit since part of the hanger was contacting a bolt on the car's bottom....no sensor relocation....just put em back in....

I just read it so I could refresh myself on the install methods. Getting ready to install Stripes on Tana's new car.

I saw a GT500 recently where the guy took the fender stripes and extended onto the hood to meet flush with the driver side stripe. Looked really good. 2 1/2" width per stripe. Has anyone else seen one like that? I like the fender stripes, but always thought they should be extended onto the hood. Personal opinion.....

I saw a thread the other day (at a different forum, I'm pretty sure) that showed 60's era cars with single and double stripes that went over the fender and onto the hood. I'm not sure they were actual driver identification stripes; they looked to be more just the country colors for the car, placed for style if not substance. It would definitely be interesting on a modern car.

Here's an example, though these colors don't seem to match any actual country's FIA colors:

Can someone repost pictures on the install. The pictures are no longer available. Also on the install of the stripes, it this a wet install (using soapy water below the stripes) or a dry install (the stripes "self-adhere"). Need a little direction on this before I do the install. I'm sure its easy but just being anal about it!! Thanks!! Cant wait for the fished look!!

Rene,

Back before this thread was even started I installed Stripes on 2 cars My wifes GT/CS and my GT500. The attached thread has dimensions and basically you can use the hood bumper on the fender to center the top of the stripes up. I have installed them dry and wet. Wet is the way to go.
http://www.teamshelb...post__p__627333

Just recently I installed a set of stripes on my wifes new GT500 and i put 1 drop of dishwashing soap in one of those little 1 ounse bottles of eye class cleaner bottles. Spray it on the fender and the back of the stripe. A mist will do. Then install the stripe. Wrap the edges of the fender too and cut it off when you have the stripe in place and then just push the stripe onto the fender lips.
