..rude unsolicited comment......most of us have learned to understand that not everyone has the same vision of what looks good, and to encourage if possible, if not, at least not bash someone for their choices........can't imagine why you could expect sympathy with any of your issues with your willingness to point out that you so strongly disagree with their choices, especially if not asked for comment.........as Ruf would say, bad form.....

Then I guess we should all "blame" this guy :hysterical:

But since my SGT came with the Cobra-style hood scoop...

And I do "drive" my car on the track and "race" it at the drag strip...

I think it fits in rather well with the SHELBY heritage...

However, that's just my opinion :censored:

EDIT = I almost fell out of my chair laughing when I first read your "poser" post...  So I've edited my response to add in a little "scarcasm"...

That's ME! How did you know??? Especially since we've never actually met in person before :headscratch:

Maybe one of these days our two cars will be at the same place and at the same time :shift:

And since we'll BOTH being going by the pits at such a high rate of speed, the only way to tell our cars apart (except for them being White & Blue) will be from the fender stripes...

Or if you want, we can just take pictures in the parking lot :hysterical:

Well I agree and disagree with your thoughts on my comments.

It is just an opinion!

Dont have feelings made of glass, geeeez

But unsolicited, I guess, but people offer their opinion whether wanted or not on internet forums, this one included all the time, my threads included. Why should you be not subject to the same scrutiny?

I'm sorry  :shift:

Still a terrible mod

My personal taste prerfer to have the car do the talking and does not need decals and stripes.  The regualr GT500 with stripes has plenty as it is!  :)

Chuck....no one that knows me thinks my feelings are made of glass......I spent the evening watching Gregg do some drag racing, and never once mentioned your comments on our fender stripes.....others' opinions do not shake up my world that much.....

but the pure and simple of it.....this was a technical thread for installing fender stripes......not even close to a solicitation for opinions.....rather than do a drop in critique....start your own thread and have at it.  All of us accept that we do things that others disagree with, but will be glad to make it clear when we are looking for advice about our choices..........maybe this forum needs to better control what gets posted in technical/fact based threads.  I belong to another shelby forum that does a very good job of removing extraneous comments from discussions of tech issues.  The "birdman" does a fine job of keeping things and people (TG!!!!) under control...LOL

Back to the topic......

I have a small bubble that hasn't gone away yet.  it's baked in the sun for awhile.  Should I wait it out or try to stick it with a pin?

BTW - Thanks for the resupply! :salute:

No problem!

If you have a small bubble that does not go away after being in the sun for a couple of days just take a small pin and poke a hole in the center of the bubble.  Do not press on the bubble trying to get it to lay flat right away.  All you are doing is creating a release path for the air.  Let it sit in the sun for another day or so and it if you have penetrated the vinyl the air should come out and the vinyl should lay down flat with little or no indication that there was ever a bubble there.

:happy feet: Thanks buddy! I'll definitely take ya up on that one.
Hope to see you at the big bash in '10, if for nothing else but to show you how fast vista blue (with silver pit stripes) really is compared to the far slower white (with any color pit stripes)! ;)

Ken

p.s. John, I dropped my SGT off at the body shop to get my hood scoop opened up a little more. I asked the experts there to apply my pit stripes, since I'm apparently a moron and incapable of doing it myself without destroying them!

I got my stripes installed yesterday, they were super easy to put on and look great.  I will get some better pics after it warms up a bit later today.  Thanks Mrfarmdog, I will be ordering more of these in different colors.   :happy feet:

Also on the 2010, the rubber hood bumper must be in a different place, so the location may be off a bit, but I think its pretty close.

Mee too.

I have a 2010 Kona Blue with WHITE stripes.

I want to put a set of WHITE fender stipes on BOTH (Lt. & Rt.) SIDES of my car.

Does one set fit both sides? Can I make them work?

Either way, PM or private e at phill.pollard@comcast.net.

I've been looking for 2" tape but haven't looked real hard and I'd rather have the vinyl with the backing tape like I'm used to (My racing sponsor was a sign painter and I got all my vinyl decals from him w/tape applied).

Thanks in advance,
