I am hoping to participate in some autocross and open track this year. I bought a fire extinguisher, but I have not figured out any clever way to mount it, so I won't mess up the interior. Anyone got an idea?

Do a search on "extinguisher" and you will find several options. I'm in a similar situation as you. Initially, I am going to mount it to the passenger seat handle that allows one to move the seat forwards/backwards.

Cost is $57.99 for the Brushed Aluminum /Silver Bracket and $59.99 for the all black version.
If you use a 1.5 lb extinguisher, it will clear the the seat handle and you can adjust the seat as usual. If you use a larger one for example 2.5 lb, it limits the seat moving forward.
