Have you seen the commercial for Race the Base in Cold Lake? Check it out. $1,500 (not sure how much gets doinated to charity) gets you driving tips and an unlimited run on the runway on the base.

No race the base event scheduled for 2011. Due to a conflict with scheduling between the show sponsor and the military base this event is put off until 2012. Both my hubby and I are highly considering going to this event next yr...hubby with his ZR1 and me with my Shelby.

Wow, that sounds so cool the the military would let you have an event like that. I've been to Cold Lake a few times over the years flying in the MAPLE FLAG Exercises back in the 80's but not since. Back in the 50's and early 60's when General Curtis LeMay was head of SAC and later Chief of Staff of the Air Force, he was a big sports car fan and many of the bases would have car rallies and events using the runways before congress got wind of it (LOL).
You guys have fun and it sounds like it would be a blast.
