I am getting new tires. I really do want something that hooks up better than the hard rocks I've had on the Mustang and Cobra.  So I'm springing for some Bridgestone265/40ZR18 front and 345/35ZR19 rears.

It looks like the OEM tires are 235/45ZR18 front and 315/40ZR19 rear listed Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires.  Aren't these the ones used on some GT500 (SS?)    I'll be taking them back but not interested in storing them.  If they'll work on something else make me an offer.

I've had great luck with Bridgestone. Dunlops too.

We did a <48 hour trip to Vegas this weekend to see Blondie at the Mandalay Bay beach.  Not a bad show but not the best we've seen.  The stage is over a pool on a sandy beach (all man made) with a huge wave pool   Debbie Harry can still belt the old standards out, but the sound was just all whacky.  The instruments came across way overmodulated and sometimes drowned out her vocals.

Anyway, my friend with a little local auto dealer who is helping orchestrate both the Cobra sale and GT purchase (it becomes a "trade" for which I only pay sales tax on the difference) emailed me while we were at the show that the GT is mine.  They have my money, I have the title (well, George does) and the car is on the way to get the mods done.   Parts were ordered on Thursday with a completion date by the 23rd, so I will have it by the end of the month.  I can't wait :)
Cheers,
Tony

What plate? We get up to 7 characters (space is allowed, as is "-"). From a list I got a while ago, the usual suspects like FORDGT are taken. We can't use 0 (zero) but "o" is ok.

Somehow I think "o6FRDGT" might work. But I think I'm going to try for "GULF GT" as first choice. GOZFAST or GOZFSTR for 2nd, don't have a 3rd yet.

Any other suggestions? I want to send in the form in a day or so...

I like Gulf GT   I also like SORY4RE but that would take 8 spaces.  You could run it together as the # 4 defines it.  SORY4RE

Heck, I wish I was challenged to find a plate for my GT.  Oh, I don't have one. :headscratch:

Enjoy!

Some better pictures.  The car arrived late Saturday afternoon.  This morning I took it for a ride (about 160 miles to South Denver) where I met a former GT owner that switched to a Superformance GT40.  Both cars are small, but stacked side by side the difference is quite dramatic.   His car has the non-fuel injected version of the engine I have in the Cobra.

That is simply incredible. Very nice vehicle. Man, I wouldn't mind one of those in the future as well as a Shelby. Beggers can't be choosers, but I love Ford enough to dream. Incredible car.

Any big plans?

Some pics from delivery day (I just got them off the camera)

The huge (almost 100' long) Intercity van. Holds 7 cars. The trailer is the standard size but his tractor has almost as much space as my house.

Whenever Intercity comes there is always something special. This time my car was at the front. This had to get out of the way to get mine off. Wow! What a beauty.

When my Cobra came home the last time it's bunk mate was a 300SL Gull Wing. This time just the lowly roadster. Still close to a 700K vehicle.
