Thanks!  I'd like to see the Grabber Blue. I almost had to flip a coin because I could not decide between grabber blue and race red.  I just saw the 50th aniversary GTS in person at the NY auto show. Personally I didn't care for the white/gold scheme.

One more step closer to completion.  The brakes have been installed and they are a whole lot of brakes for a V6!!!!  I am now just waiting on the black Shelby wheels and the black striping ... and a date I can have this shipped!!!

TJYS... What a fantastic thread.

You're wife sounds very special and is lucky to have a caring husband like you! God bless her for her service and dedication to this country.

The thread started on a bad foot but has progressed for the better. I can't wait to see the finished product. And can't imagine your anticipation.

I worked the NYC Auto Show with SAI last week. Those guys are great. Gary Patterson, John Luft, et all... They are stand-up guys.

I absolutely love the GTS. I think it's an under-rated Shelby. What you get for the cost is a corner carving, screaming machine! What package did you get? I see you got the 6 banger. Did you get the supercharger too?

They had a beautiful 50th anniversary GTS in NYC. Here's a pic.

My wife decided against the supercharger ... though I  continue to work on her.  She didn't want to drive the GT500 because of the HP and the 6 speed  which is why I opted for the V6 AT for her.  After being back on the ground stateside though I think she's beginning to give in!!  She loves the look of the GTS and I do too.   I showed her the 50th Anniversary GTS in black and white.  She liked them both, as I did, but liked the black and gold much, much better after looking at it for a while.  I couldn't blame her reasoning for liking the black and gold ... it's the Army colors.  However, I about fell out of my seat this morning when she saw the Shelby 1000 and wanted to know the price!!  She really loved that car, as I do, but it's hard to just give up the two cars we have now to get the 1000.

We are hoping to get her GTS in the next 30 days.  I'll post pictures like I promised of us on North Shore, top down, and happy to be home.

The 50th Shelbys and the 1000 look even better in person!  I was also at the NY auto show.  I was very happy to be there yet frustrated because I don't have my car yet.  I expected to go to the show and tell everyone what a great car it was, but I could not.   I payed my $5K deposit back in November.

My 4-year-old boy loved the GT350 convertible. But I got the GTS Coupe because I cannot be fooled by this year's mild New England winter.  Can't wait to see tjys's photos. The convertible is a must for Hawaii.

You put the deposit down in november, but when did you drop it off at Shelby? I'm curious what your wait has been since you said it might go on the rack this week! I'm loving hearing these updates.

My car got to Shelby at the end of February.  I special ordered it from Ford. I understand that Ford and the dealer being slow is not Shelby's fault. However, Shelby should base the queue by when the deposit is given and not by when the car gets to Shelby.  Shelby will argue that you get a lower CSM number.  That is true. I have a "low" number of "32." But #32 does not have the weight of say # 1 or #2.
In the Acura Superbowl commercial, Leno & Sienfeld were not fighting over NSX #32 .

That's just my opinion.  I hope others agree...

Afterward: OK, sorry, I had a cranky day.   I can see how basing the queue on "drive-in" time can be fair because it will prevent someone  from keeping a deposit on file at all times so that their car cuts to the front of the line when he drives in a car to Shelby.
But on the other hand, I know a lot of things I could have done with my $5K.  I thought I was reserving my spot in line for production. I probably would have withheld the deposit until my car arrived at SA.

Just put a surplus jet engine on the GTS and it will have the same effect!

  Your GTS is going to look awesome. Thanks for sharing the pictures of the build.  I am not up on my 2012 cars. Is that a special edition?  Is Shelby going to remove the C-stripe and black panel?  What color stripes are you getting?

It's a "Mustang Club of America" Edition.  That gave me the 18" wheels and the blackout decklid panel, both of which will remain on the car.  Shelby will only remive the C-stripe.  I'm going for white stripes, even though the dark wheels made the black stripes very tempting.  I'd be even more tempted if the stripes were not matte.

I was told the black stripes went on the car today ... but wheels were the wrong color and will have to be fixed.  SA said they'll send me pictures tomorrow.

tjys. Your car is awesome.  Your color/wheel  combination really works. It flat out looks fast.  Thanks so much for showing us your build.  Now I can't wait to see it at the Bonsai pipeline. That is one rare car. Whats your wife think of it all ?

My wife loves the pictures.  She, and I, can hardly wait to get it on the island.  Once we get it we'll head straight up to North Shore for a few pics!!!  We labored over the color combination.  We thought the red/white with chrome wheels mix would be better but with the black convertible top it just made the matte black stripes and wheels a better choice.  It looks like it works well in the pics, we'll see how it looks in the Hawaiian sun!!
