Does anybody know if Mr. Shelby is going to help with the 2013 Viper or is he with Ford and SVT strictly from here on out? I mean it was another car that Carroll was one of the founding fathers of.

FYI yes the car name is correct in the title because Dodge/Chrysler is trying to seperate the SRT name into a brand just like what they did with the Dodge Ram truck.

There is nothing more for CS to do.  He was a major player in the Design of it in the beginning but once it is designed and built, all you can do is tweek it over the Years.  From what I have read over the Months, it wont have that many changes from the last Year style.  The Dodge Magnum SRT is coming back as well.

At least somwhere in its DNA, it has the trait that it had a touch by CS himself and will forever be still recognized as Dodge's perception on the modern day version of the Shelby Cobra. I won't be shocked if it has minor changes to it. Hopefully in a few years it will have a complete makeover.

As of the rumor of the Magnum coming back, that will be very interesting to see. :lurk:

It's a Chrysler - so who cares. It will be a POS because of who builds it, in spite of the wizard who had input.

SRT isnt separating from Dodge or Chysler like they did with Ram, SRT is a performance group, like SVT is with Ford

SRT is definately going to get bigger, especially with Ralph Gilles at the controls, i am hoping for a Ram SRT, even if it is a SRT8, instead a SRT10 back in 2004-06

Wondering what is going to happen with the Viper, because i think Ferrari is making the motors for the Vipers

But the Viper won't be getting the Dodge name is what I am on about.

Still, with Gilles in charge and regardless of slight changes, we will be seeing a vastly improved Viper. I am interested in their new traction control for the car and looking at some interior spy shots, it looks like the Viper too will be getting bilstein shocks like the 2013 GT500 as well as cruise control.

As of it engine-wiseI assume it is going to be the same pushrod V10 bored out like they have always done. Maybe have 700HP as well.

It would also be very nice to see a return of the SRT Ram. The Ram SRT10 was a cool truck and I don't mind if they go with an SRT8 this time around would be cool to see the 6.4 V8 under the hood making enough if not more power than its SRT10 counterpart.

I think my next truck will be a 06 Ram SRT, but i kinda need a 4 wheel drive truck so I kinda hope a new Ram SRT will be announced- but it also depends on the look

Agreed. If it has a special SRT body kit like the last truck, it will be most likely more for street use and also most likely RWD

Not to intimidate anyone here, but as of last night, SRT unveiled a teaser shot of the new Viper

Here it is:

Expect the car to be unveiled on April 4th at the New York Auto Show. More details and hopefully some leaked shots will come as we get further down the road.

SRT will be a seperate brand, like Ram is now. There are no Dodge trucks anymore, now they're Ram Trucks, same will be tru eof the SRT brand. This might sense to those at Fiat who are calling the shots, but it seems like waste of time and money to me.

I don't care what Dodge calls their trucks, it is still a Dodge.

And I still wont buy one.

It is still a Dodge ram.  Don't believe me, look at the signature on the paycheck of a "ram truck" employee.

If you look at a new truck from Fiat/Chrysler/Ram/SRT/Joes Crab Shack, you won't find the word 'Dodge' anywhere. I know, I've looked! Even the key/remote deleted the word Dodge and replaced it with Ram. I work at a shop that does truck accessories, and we see them every day. The worst part of it for me is that some of our vendors recognize the change and have their listings adjusted, and some don't, so that parts applications for the new truck could be anywhere!

Yeah, but some people are now saying even though it is a vague drawing, it looks like it has some Italian DNA in its blood.

If that's a case, I think that would be interesting to see when the car is fully unveiled.

It may not say dodge on the vehicle, but I bet the 2013 viper comes from the same building that the 2010 viper came out of.

One thing I've collected over the years is a lot of Viperabilia, including about 10-12 Chrysler Viper brochures, yes Chrysler. Vipers in Europe are marketed under the chysler name. Pretty unique stuff.

I bought one...Drove all three Ford F-150...Chev...And the Hemi Dodge...IMO the Ford and Chev don't compare in the ride

and power department and looks for that matter...Oh and I've owned them all when I owned my own company Dodge was the

only one that held up to the abbuse we put them through and believe me they wen't through hell.

As far as the Viper it always was an awesome car and I'm sure the new one is going to be a monster.

It is a SVT truck.  It is not a pure off road truck.  Every car has a weak spot.
