Funny, I was out looking at some cars last week for my son and this little rinky dink used car dealer had one exactly like the photo above in perfect condition in the showroom. I think it was his pride and joy. It was cool to see though.

Sure was. I couldn't believe it. I had another pic from the side but there was so much light coming in from the showroom window the pic was bad. I even considered going to get more pics jut to put up on the site for others to see. It was nice to see one in this sort of shape. I loved these cars when they came out, a friend of mine had one and I was always envious.

There's actually quite a bit of difference between the autocrossing car and the car in the show room. The A-cross car is a normally aspirated car which makes it an 83-84 1st gen of the Shelby Charger. The showroom car is a higher output Turbo I car with no sunroof which makes it an '85/'86. Looks like it had some paint work at least on the front since the Dodge decal is in the wrong place. It should not be center but should be to the right of center.

I'm guessing 1985 because of the blue seats. If I recall those colored seats were gone by 1986.

I always liked the silver cars with the blue stripes. I have an early magazine with a test of one. It was a N/A '83 i think..

Nice condition. Most of those aren't nearly that clean (as if I've seen one myself).

I actually own a 85 blue and silver shelby charger.. 3 rd owner.. It's in pretty good shape to say it's up here in Canada, cleaning up a little and hoping to hit SDAC with it. These cars still get all kinds of head turns.. and questions lol

I'm planning on making it to SDAC 22 too. I'm thinking I'll buy a tow dolly and tow my car to Detroit with it.
