No rubbing so far. No caster/camber plates required for tire fitment.

I just noticed I'm in the Super Snake forum. FWIW my car is not a Super Snake.

I have been wondering if the 285 R888 and 315 R888 would fit for a matching f/r tire combo for the Alcoa's, but no one had tried the 285 on the front with any brand of 20" rim..............

If the 285's work with a 20x9.5" wheel, I'll bet that they may also work with a 10" Alcoa on the front, and then the 315 on a 11.75" rear.

I knew the 315 R888 fit the 11.75 Alcoa nicely, but I was not sure if the 285 R888 was even a reality for the front.

Jacks1071 - ^^^^^^^^^There is your tire combo^^^^^^^ if you need something a little narrower on the rear, still fitting the 11.75 Alcoa and a matching 285 R888 for the front.

This is the best tire news I have read in a while for those who desire matching tires front and rear for the widened Alcoa world.

Update, we tested 315/35/20 Bridgestone's on the 11.75 widened Alcoa with a 3mm spacer - they still rub on the inside of the wheel well on a 2011 car and the tyre obviously isn't as good as what Shelby supply as they have less grip instead of more.

How about a 315/30? I would guess that the 315/35 is going to bulge more because of a taller sidewall......

The use of that 1/8" spacer also sticks the tire bulge out past the fender lip doesn't it? or is it even with the lip since it is a 315?

Less grip than the Pirelli P Zero 275/35/20?

Yes they are worse, they are run-flat tyres so I don't know if that somehow reduces traction but the car will now fish-tail in 4th gear whereas previously that would only happen in 3rd.

They arn't hitting on the outside, they are rubbing on the inside.

The 30 profile might help but we'll probably try something closer to a 300 as we can't keep throwing money away on tyres that we can't use.

That is probably going to put you in the 295/35 area.............I would think that a 11.75" wide rim would be getting too wide for these narrower tires?

Probably right Rob - I think I'll just stick with the standard rims and tyre sizes and get sticky tyres.

Project widened tyres has been an epic failure on the 2011.

I use this tire at 315/30-18 x 4 and am VERY pleased with the performance...my street tune on 91 octane gas makes 800 RWHP...

How wide did widen your Alcoa for the R888 in 315?
