OK Rick, so the story your selling me is you drive your Super Snake as you drive your tractor, slowly.
And that is why you need 2 foot wide tires on the back. :peelout:

So you can get traction in the fields?? :hysterical2: :hysterical2: :hysterical2:

You know Bill I hadn't thought of that. The fields are big enough that I could get some real speed out there barring the rows. No worries about traffic, or law enforcement! :D But all that detail work Alex did would be for naught. :hammer_self:

All the best....
Rick

My Pleasure Bill/Walt!!

Robert, I will get some pictures in the next few days. I had the wheels widened to 11/3/4" and am putting on 1/8 spacers.

I should hope you don;t drive this car in a field Rick!!! The nice thing about the Ice treatment though is that nothing really sticks to it anyway...LOL

Just think about all those mysterious field carvings he could make for people in the sky to see......and don't worry about getting it dirty, Alex loves to clean :-)

This is exactly what I did. I also installed the Shelby billet watts link, trimmed the orange rubber bump stomps and installed (TS member zombeast) bump stop relocation bracket. With the 1/8 spacers, and when my girls squats on hard launch acceleration, I get some minor tire rub on the quarter panel (inner side), and when I say got some, I mean very very little. I can rub some tire off the rolled body wheel well.

The upgrade transformation looks great. I would love to hear that exaust. Great job Alex.

I really love the quad exhaust.............great choice Rick and fantastic build Alex.

I'm thinking once Ricks Shelby is complete, you should take a nice vacation away......no cars.....no cell phone. I know you won't, but it's a nice thought.

If only we knew of somewhere he could go and spend 10 days in several different countries to get away..... :hysterical:

What kind of nut goes that fast???

If only we knew of somewhere where someone could actually hit 200 mph...... :hysterical2:

Alex, how did you get the 335's to fit in the wheel well? What had to be relocated and what had to be removed?

I will contact you when I am ready to widen. Does the supplier not grind down and smooth the seam?

Bill

NO! It would weaken the weld.

The most annoying part of any build is waiting for parts! Rick and I discussed adding the Boss 302 QTP electric exhaust cut-outs after the Boss 302 side exhaust was installed, so we ordered them right away. Unfortunately, it ended up being right before QTP was relocating warehouses at the time, so we had to wait quite a while to get a pair of them. They were worth the wait though, now that they are on....they are simply awesome!! Pipes had to be cut and re-welded to make work, but again, well worth all the effort and time. We ran the wires under the heat shield, under the carpet then mounted the remote switch under the dash and made a bracket with out drilling any holes in the dash. Rear bumper was removed to repaint the bottom black as it was previously white and looked off since the car was Super Snaked. Car now can be stealth, or loud on command!! Here are some more pictures:

No Dan, we are just doing some suspension work on the 40th.. That car is not used enough for the rest. I plan to have A LOT of fun with the SS though.

Thanks for the comments, both Dans, Greg, and Rick...

Car is back in the corner of the shop covered waiting for a tow hook now....when the hook comes, I will see if my guys can get some sound clips at idle and driving with both the side exhaust open and closed, then when the car is detailed I will get some final exterior shots so Robert M can see the tire profile from the sides.

I have a customer's 96 Cobra from hell on the lift now..he tried working on it himself and pretty much anything that could be wrong with it, is wrong with it...LOL

Ok...here are some sound clips. Excuse the terrible wind it was 108 when I took the clips and very windy. Tape was on rear lower bumper as we were buffing the lower valance that was painted last week. I usually cover the license plates too on cars for sound clips. All these sound clips were done not exceeding 3500 RPM or driving the car hard as the clutch still needs to break in. Enjoy!!!

Start up, revving and idle through stock SS Borlas and side exhaust closed. I don't like the Borlas, but Rick wanted it to still be somewhat quiet with the Dynatech's when the side exhaust was closed, otherwise I would have put my MMS mufflers on the car...LOL:

Thank you Dan, Steve, and Rob!!! It is friends like all of you that keep me excited about continuing to build cars. 18 years now!! I still enjoy most of the cars and people everyday. it is always fun to take cars that are already very good and make them great, not to mention personalize them to each person's individual tastes!!

I don't know if Rick got a chance to hear the sound clips or see the recent posts. I know he has been very busy lately with work and family trips. He is going to pick up the Super Snake next week and swap it out with his 40th which we are going to do some things to, so watch for a build thread on it. <p>

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, we had an extended weekend at the cabin. (No electronics, etc.) I've still yet to hear the sound clips at a reasonable level. I figure I'll wait to get the car, and find out first hand. :drop:

All the best....
Rick

Not a problem Rick, The cabin sounds like fun with no electronics and cool weather! I'm glad all the plumbing is working now and you and your family are able to get away and enjoy the cabin.

You will love the car even more in person. Tow hook going on in the morning (Wednesday) and pictures will be posted of the install, then a 93 Cobra coming in and another GT500 coming in tomorrow night for SPEC Twin SS # 80, short throw shifter, and RBST that will be installed on Thursday and Friday, Then your SS will get final detail and photos and will be ready for pick-up next week to swap for the 40th.

Thank you for the comments, MJN, as I said before, the car is even more stunning in person!!! Sometimes pictures and sound clips are hard to capture what a car can be.

Here are some tow hook install pictures. Very well made piece by FordFan on the forum (Kerry). He uses the Ford Racing anodized tow hook and makes a sturdy custom bracket to make it look like it was factory installed. If you do any road racing in your car, most tracks require a tow hook. Even ones that do not require a tow hook, it is always a good idea to install one as you don't want the track crew pulling your car off the track by the suspension and messing up the front bumper in the process, if you ever have a problem. Install obviously requires removing front bumper, cutting a section of the inner bumper, and about 4 hours of time from start to finish. Very well made piece!! I bought 2 extras if anyone wants us to install one on their car. While the front bumper was off, we fixed the passenger's side hood pin stud as it was loose. Here are some install pics.

And a few more of the exhaust cut-outs that I am very proud of. This has never been done before on a GT500, so Rick has the only GT500 in existence with long tube headers, Boss 302 side exit exhaust made to work on a convertible, and electric cut outs!!

Will post final exterior, interior, and engine box detail pictures after my detailer details the car on Saturday, then it is getting covered and ready for Rick to pick up next week and swap with his 40th. Can't wait to see his famous smile from ear to ear that he is known for when he see's his car for the first time since it was dropped off!!

Nice looking job Alex. Thank you also for making me aware of my "famous smile". :D

AWESOME, Since you took away my other bracket. I just now realized that with the tow hook I can hang my front license plate from it. Could I get a photo please of what it now can look like? The posibilites are endless with Alex! :hysterical:
