My wife says the Corvette is still THE mid-life crisis car. Since Corvettes, Porsches, etc.. are not really muscle cars like a Shelby Mustang I think the 40-something Shelby owners are just the generation that always wanted a Shelby Mustang and not seeking something to satisfy their mid-life crisis. But I might be full of crap. I did order a Mustang from the factory when I was 21 years old. That wasn't a mid-life crisis. It was a crisis to gain a little speed and performance from Ford without paying the high cost of some foreign car.

Oh, it's a mid-life crisis for me!

Only 6.33% of women made the big plunge on a GT500 so far. My wife is scared to death to drive it. There are some gutsy chicks out there.

She doesn't even like to ride shotgun in the Shelby. She is constantly bracing for impact. After a 300 mile trip she was worn-out from the stress. Should I get an annulment, or what? :)

Send her to Bob Bonderaunt School of driving. Maybe she can learn how to handle a speeding car and then she will like the GT500 and wanna go faster :)

And no, don't get an annulment, just get a girlfriend :hysterical2:

I keep getting told that I really don't need to keep getting a car every year as I get older! I have had 43 cars and I'm 43. My Father-in-law thinks they should have caraholics anonymous so I can kick my disease. Like the show says some people are car crazy!

I think the better words to choose would be, *To put a car this powerful in the hands of an 18 year old CAN be dangerous.* because in fact to put a car this powerful in anyones hands CAN be dangerous let alone to put any car in anyones hands CAN be dangerous.

Yep, I survived buying & driving my 1970 428cj at 18 years old...had a few one car misshaps with it but we both are still around to tell about it!!
