What are your guys thoughts on installing the Shelby GT/SC decals on the car after I have had the whipple supercharger installed on the car? Does the Shelby world frown on that? Is it looked at like it is a fake since it was not done at Shelby America? I would like to have the forums options. If I did decide to do it who has the best decals to match the originals?

IMO, would be best just to have Shelby do the work if you want the GT/SC designation.

GT/SC is one of Shelby's model designations.  If your car wasn't done thru Shelby, then it would not be a Shelby GT/SC.

I agree, that designation is reserved for vehicles upgraded at Shelby Las Vegas or Tasca Ford in RI...

I have those decals on both my cars ,None of my vehicles were upgraded at Shelby Las Vegas or Tasca, why? because I can, I guess they wont be worth anything later

I recently purchase an 08 SGT with the SC package installed by a local Ford Dealership with a High Performance Center located with in it. It was not an "Official" SGT and the previous owner did change the badges. Since I have purchased the car I am change all the badges back to the SGT as they are harder to find, the real one's, and are only sold with the car. Shelby will only sell you another set if yours have been damaged or are discolored, etc. and you have to send them yours. Because the SGT is a number model, I would keep the originals. As far as others here raining on your parade, I wpi;d say, "Relax Francis!, and enjoy the car as the, you did not pay for a SGTSC - SS, so you can have more fun with it and the Whipple. PS, with the Whipple, their are not many daily drivers out their that can beat you....

PS, when other's get in your face, remind them that you paid thousands less, and are just as fast. If they say anything regarding the value, then they are not real Shelby fans, as Carrol himself, said that his cars are ment to be driven. Let them take their investments, you make your memories which will last a lot longer than that extra dollar!!!

If you like it do it, it has an SC, honestly we are the only ones that Know what a GT/SC is.  It would be a different story if you lied and tried to pass it of as done at SAI, but does not appear your doing so.

I had the Whipple installed at a Ford dealer and saved roughly $4,000, I did install the SGT/SC decals on the side and have FELT embarassed ever since. I have a set of orginal SGT decals and am going to put them back on. It just doesn't feel right having the SGT/SC stickers on it plus there are way too many people asking me what the SGT/SC sticker means. Plus I would rather have the supercharger not be known.........to my victims.

Same here, SVOC did the whipple install on my 07 and I intentionally wanted to keep just the SGT on the side. Having a sleeper is fun!

Calling it a "Shelby GT/SC" when in fact it is not is inaccurate. Why would anyone do this?

I appreciate everyones opinions! The fact is that it is a supercharger Shelby GT, and it has the same Whipple supercharger kit on it that is installed at SAI. I am not trying to have it pass for a Shelby GT/ SC but I merely wanted to see the boards opinions and see how many people that have had the Shelby GT supercharged by SAI or by a local performance shop and had the decals installed. And how the SAI group viewed the decals. I think I got my answer.....LOL! Thanks everyone for your honesty. I think I like the sleeper mentality! But the whistle is a dead give away!

Like I said, those who don't understand, "RELAX FRANCIS!"

1. You didn't spend the money, Chris did!
2. He is not trying to pass it off as an official SS or SC built by Tasca or SAI, like he first said, so PAY ATTENTION
3. Is the car a Shelby? YES   Does it have a SC? Yes  Is it the same set up as Shelby uses? YES
4. DID HE PAY THOUSANDS LESS THAN YOU? YES
5. Did save even more by switching to GEICO? YES

Now that, that is all settled, Chris, you paid for it, it is your car so do as you please and leave the investors opinions alone. The biggest difference that I have seen on these pages is not between the different models, but rather betweent the investors, and the true Shelby die hards.

PS,  Enjoy the car and whipping up on the GT500's which we are faster than...

but rather when they pull up and notice the special enlarged hood needed to hold SC...

pssst Peter, it fits under the stock hood, no modification needed!

I did buy mine already done, but from what I was told, with the Whipple 550+ package it wouldn't fit under a SGT hood. So I would guess that you would have to either go with the GT500, or SS hood, or lower your engine... But in any case I not a 100%, and it's still fun to play with those of the GT500 selection... lol

From what I understand...it will fit under the SGT stock hood, but you have to lose the FRPP Cross Brace that attaches to the strut towers.  If you lower the engine, then the cross brace can stay in place.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...and I frequently am (according to my lovely wife).

nothing to correct there Andy.
Lowering the engine becomes a mighty expensive proposition. They (Tasca) used the adjustable poly mounts on mine when they installed the 10 Rib system. When they put the longer snout on the blower it hit the insulation, the poly mounts dropped it just enough to still clear the stock hood.
