Mostly 120 but I did touch 140 going by Michael.  That's what it took to get by that 700hp beast of a Shelby GT :worship:

Did any one have tunes problems with (fail safe codes) with the high elevations?  I bet you used a half tank of gas on the way up.

As far as i know, there were no issues with any codes/tunes...keep in mind, us California based drivers go into the Sierras as well, which have passes near the same elevation.

The Stelvio is 2760m (9055ft) at the summit.

Tom

Tom,

As an example, the summit of the Mount Rose Highway above Incline Village at Lake Tahoe rises to 8,911 ft. (2,716 m) and is open year round to traffic.

On the other hand, the summit of Tioga Pass in Yosemite rises to 9,943 ft. (3,031 m) but is closed to traffic thru the winter.

Both are great drives spring, summer or fall...

When I was in Cal doing the group run to Vegas just coming into Vegas threw those mountains my car was going into fail safe (3times) with the 93 Octane VMP tune. We ran what ever we could buy gas wise. I did have some octane booster with us but only used it once. Just kept the foot out of the gas. Once we got to Vegas we had no more problems all the way back to FL, we went Route four back threw the mountains no issues. Car ran perfect ! How many gallons of gas did you go threw? We used 309 gallons on the 50th trip.

dan and I used 200 gallons....in fact we are within one gallon of each other........I used 201.4 and Dan used 200.7 gallons!
So that's about right 200 gal to 2500 miles we traveled about 3300 for the 50th, so gas was like ($6 to 7 us) a liter or so.
Were you able to get high octane gas in all those different countries ?
