Is the black area around the tail lights smooth or wrinkle finish ?  I would want to paint the black area red and add my stripes to the filler panels.

So was just on the Cervinis website......and it looks as though they have LED tailights in stock. Haven't heard much about these lately. Anyone have bigger stones than me and went for it?

In a word. No. I wouldn't put them on a KR. A KR is a classic and elegant muscle car with just the right amount of visiable brawn. It doesn't look like some hopped up Mustang that belongs to some high schooler.  Cervini tail lights are too glitz IMHO and belong on a "look at me" Mustang like the Cervini.

I would stay with sequentials and call it a day.

But its your car..

I had an order in but it was canceled. I think they would look great on a KR as it is a similar style that the 68 KR had. I may put in a new order in before Carlisle.

I was thinking about getting them carbon fiber wrapped if i pull the trigger. Think it would look better than matte black

The last I looked you could order them with matching paint. However they would not do the stripes due to the alignment issues.

Carbon fiber or not doesn't matter. I wouldn't put them on my KR.

The May issue of 5.0 Magazine has an artical in its installation. Its a smooth flat black finish and the center section secures with double sided tape just as most lick-n-stick body enhancements (wings, scoops, rockers, etc.).

I still need to see it in person before making a judgment. My interested is peak simply because it does not require any drilling or modification to the car to install.

I posted a photo of the Cervini kit installed on my 2005 GT.

http://www.teamshelb...er-tail-lights/

As far as my install, no drilling was required. Simple hand tools to remove the stock tail-lights. Did use some piano wire I had to cut the faux gas cap off the trunk lid. Used painter's tape around the area of the faux gas cap to keep from scratching. Pretty simple and at least for me, the instructions were straight forward.

Russ, did the kit include load resistors? After seeing Cervinis installation video and light demo the light flash rapidly which typically mean a load resistor is needed.

Nope. No load resistors. Mine look like they flash normally.

I finally got mine. I knew I was going to move before they were going to be ready so I put my old address as the billing address and my new one as the shipping address. Well they sent it to my old house which is a four hour round trip.

This is how they look after about an hour of very slow and careful work. The center piece is not fully installed. It is just held on by masking tape in the video. Now if I could just find the paint code for the blue stripe.

I would not do this mod to my KR. I want my KR to look like a 2008 KR, not a 68KR.  After watching the video, it does look really nice, great job! This will look very unique and you should be able to put back to stock without any difficulty.

Seems clear you were determined to do the Cervinis. The only important thing is that you like them since it's your car. Just keep the original lights.

I still don't care for them on a KR but it's not my car.

cheers.
