Just received and installed the Rogue Mount for my V1. I'm a little disappointed.

First, contrary to what the website says, there were NO instructions in my package. Hooking up the wiring was no issue, as there's another thread on here that tells you which wire is hot and which is ground in your mirror harness (blue=hot, yellow/black=ground), and the instructions on the website tell which is hot and which is ground on the harness (yellow=hot, black=ground). But figuring out how to configure the bracket was an exercise of trial and error, aided by a photo on the website that if you study it carefully, you can figure out how to configure it. It also requires part of your factory mount (not too hard to figure out, but wasn't expecting that...).

Okay, simple packaging error, forgot to insert the instruction sheet (although, a PDF copy on the website would make that easier to resolve).

Now for the real problem. The bracket pieces are made well enough, but the screws used to tighten all the adjustment points are a hex head, but I cannot for the life of me tell you what size. I tried 1/8 standard, and 3mm metric, and neither "fit". I finally had the best success tightening things down with a 1/8 jeweler's screwdriver, but couldn't get the screws tight enough to eliminate movement. I could get the unit to fit level and stay in place, but on a test drive, I could get it to drop down (detector unit no longer level, shifted to about a 30 degree angle) on bumpy roads, and about a 10 degree angle by hard launches.

Not sure if I just got a bad batch of hex screws, or what (I have multiple sets of allen wrenches, and none fit, so I don't think it was a problem with my tools).

I know others have used the Rogue mount without a problem, but wanted to pass on my experience as another data point.

The Allen wrench needed is 2.5mm, it is not a common size on most Allen sets. I had to go buy one just to install the Rogue mount.

The blend mount I used worked fine. The instructions and their website were very helpful.
Purchased 2013 Shelby GT500 w/SVTPP, Electronics Upgrade, and Shaker Pro Audio Upgrade - took delivery June 22, 2012. Ingot Silver w/Black Matte Stripes. Added window tint.


I traded in a 2010 GT500 - Black w/Satin Black Stripes, NAV, HIDs...added window tint.
I have owned about 3 Mustang GTs, and 2 Cobras. I traded in a 2004 Mystichrome Terminator for the 2010 Shelby.

May be it's Whitworth or British Standard?


No clue, but I'd think if they were going to go too far off the norm, they'd put the appropriate sized wrench in the kit.

I was just kidding about the Whitworth or British Standard, I don't think anyone has used those since the 60's.
I think it may have been a bad batch of screws. I would try to get them replaced by the manufacturer, I am sure they would like to know about a potential problem. Or you should be able to pick up replacement screws at a hardware or auto parts store. Since you live in Alaska, you should also check with gunsmiths.

I'm pleased to report I didn't encounter the difficulties you did, Husky44. Mine arrived with instructions (though nothing on wiring) and an appropriately sized hex wrench. Thanks to that, and the wiring hints you provided above (thank you!), I didn't even have to get into my toolbox to complete the install. The mount is well-made, installed quickly, looks good, and does a great job of holding my Bel detector. Highly recommended.
