Nice Pass.  I wish we had some place in NC to run flat out for top end.  Looking forward to seeing the full clip when finished.

[Secondo - "That car sounds like a NASCAR racer!!"]

Oh please don't group Shelby's in with the NAS-CRAP crowd.  Shelby's are born and bred road course machines.  NASCAR is for drivers who are not "ambi-turners"...... Left..... left............... left..... left................. left......... etc.

If someone offered me job driving in NASCAR I wouldn't turn it down.  I've driven a couple back in the early 90' at Homestead.  I spent the weekend with the David Ragan Team at Indy and I have a lot of respect for the amount of time and effort that goes into the set up each weekend.

There are a lot of things which are easier said then done.  Keep in mind I live in NASCRAP country, grew up here and have been on the oval plenty of times.  It is an "entertaining" form of racing, however it is not that difficult compared to road course racing.  The car moves around alot and you just have to have the balls to keep your foot in it and trust the tires.  Personally, I have always been challenged to understand it's popularity other than the aspect that you can sit in the stands like you are at an NFL game and see all the action without leaving your seat.  Maybe that is why American's like it.  Who knows.  Oval's just don't do it for me and that includes Indy cars as well.

Now if you really want a challenge, try a road course track day on two wheels:

After spending a lot of time on the track on my Honda, I have an emense amount of respect for the guys who do this for a living.  Every time I come off the track from a 20 minute session, my entire body is sore.  Much more intense than I have ever experienced in a car on the track.  My hats off to the Moto GP and WSBK boys.
