I just found this on the internet and thought a 14 mile Vista Blue is something that should be posted here.

It appears to be a very small town dealer with two KR’s in their show room. The black KR was posted for sale on Yahoo. The pictures on yahoo were of low resolution so I Googled the dealer for some better pictures. To my surprise there was a Vista Blue parked right next to it.

I think they are both overpriced but it is the only 14 mile Vista I have seen.

That's about $7,008.00 per mile for the Blue one! LOL!! And about 6 miles less than my Red '08 with 20 on the clock! LOL!!
Hope both KR's sell for what they are asking for them!! Great looking Shelbys!

I would entertain buying the VB, but nowhere near $98,000.  What would be a reasonable price where both parties are happy?

I talked to them last year when I was buying. Got the strong impression that the vista blue wasn't going to be going anywhere for a while. Tiny, tiny dealer in the middle of nowhere who's head was still spinning with the 2008 marketing hype of getting an unfathomably-rare car in the same context as having all six of your numbers called in the Powerball. Pretty sure it's a shifting price point too. They were at $80k when I was offering a stout upper-$60's. If I offered 80 I'm pretty sure their price would've been 90. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the black KR was the dealership-owner's own car, probably brought in from elsewhere to appease the constant daily temptation to drive the vista blue as he looked up from his desk waiting for the next farmer to walk in needing an F150. It was also very clear to me that this guy was intent on establishing the fact that I was priveledged just to talk to him about the car, and that if in the future I become Saudi royalty, then maybe I could be worthy and priviledged enough to be considered as a potential buyer.

This is very helpful information.  I believe he will therefore be sitting on this car for sometime then, too proud to admit he made a mistake and got caught up in the hype.  Hopefully for his sake, the rich Saudi Prince will come to his dealership.

FYI, I have a Silver with Blue KR with less than 200 miles I can get my hands on.  I believe this car could be had at a much better price than the above mentioned cars.  PM me if interested, its a personal friend of mine's car and I would only act as an intermediary.    

I'd also like to take this opportunity to state very clearly my role in what I do.  I produce short films and promotional work for Ford/Shelby products, and I am an AVID enthusiast and racer.  I'm on this board for my own interests because I love this product.  I also act as the Rich Ford Shelby/SVT specialist... not because I am PAID to act in that capacity, but because I usually like the company of like-minded owners.  Along the way I help whomever I can, with finding cars, working on cars, my personal experience with them and racing them.  I hope in the coming months and years that I participate here that people will come to think of me as a good source of information, weather you agree or disagree - NOT as someone with any kind of agenda to sell anything.  If I can help - GREAT!  I'm here to enjoy the camaraderie and continue to learn.  /steps off.

So, the going rate for a Black KR seemed to be in the $50K range for a while, maybe slightly more for something with very low miles.  I think his price for this is way high (as we all believe).  Now, I understand the Vista Blue is rare (I'd love one), but does that rarity in color translate to $10K-$20K more in value?...I just don't think so.  There's no question $98K is out of the question...I'd start at $50K for that one and come up slowly.  In the end, it's worth what someone will pay for it.

Kudos to you guys who have KRs with only 20 miles or 200 miles...me, I bought mine to drive it AND to look at it!

I too would be a lousy custodian of this car. It would have thousands of miles on the clock in no time and the purists would be hunting me down with torches and pitch forks in hand.

As much as I like Vista Blue KRs, pricing on this one is unrealistic. Mine had 150 miles when I bought it a year ago and it was below $60K. Paying $40K more to save around 100 miles of wear and tear isn't a good deal IMHO.

Times have changed.
All KR's are rare with only 1600 produced.
I think this guy is 4 years late in getting $98K and also about 10 years too soon.
But hey, if he gets it all our ships will rise with the tide!

And he will wait 10 years to get anything close to what he is asking.  Funny thing is, if he took $65,000 today, (which he would never do as it would hurt the ego) and invested it for the next 10 years, he would have $124,568 at just 6% compounded annually.  Instead, he will sit on it for ever to recoup his cost, not fully realizing how he loses $ each day the car sits on his showroom floor.

I called them today, and made a SERIOUS offer, they still want 80K for the Blue car, I told them I had to pass.

This guy you talk about is Fryguy79. He is well aware of pricing and knows exactly what he has. Hint, maybe he doesnt want the VB car to go anywhere
It has nothing to do with ego and that small dealership has sold more Shelby's than most of the larger dealerships in the country. He is extreemly friendly to Team Shelby members. He is the Great Plains regional director. Sometimes you have to read between the lines
