Is anyone running 5W30 instead of 5W20 in their SC 5.0s?

I know SAI and my Ford dealer say to stick with the 5W20 in my 2012 5.0 with the Whipple SC.

I think it has to do with the oil passage ways so there is sufficient flow in some specific area so that the computer can read and assess the variable timing needs and such and that going to a 5W30 would be problematic.

I am curious to know if anyone here has switched to 5W30 and in the long term, how has it worked out for you.

Thanks.

Ford recommends 5W20 for a reason... I'd stick with what is recommended during the warranty period.

I also believe what they recommend is a synthetic blend (or at least my SGT was).
Cheers,
Tony

I switched over to full synthetic Motorcraft 5W20 at 3200 miles, a mere 400 miles ago.

My only concern is the 20 weight aspect here with the wear factor of running the SC.

I am reading that for the Aussie version of their NA 5.0 Coyote, Ford spec is 5W30, not 5W20 as it is here is the States.
