Anyone know the weight of the transmission with fluid??? I am doing the clutch on my back and wonder if it's can be benched in and out. I do have a floor jack but why go to the gym if you can't bench a tranny. LOL

It couldn't weigh more than a 1950 Ford overdrive tranny. I used to bench it in and out. Did I mention that was 51 years ago? You have the technology, use the floor jack and save yourself for the gym.

Did I mention I wear a wife beater and pinky ring. LOL. The problem is that I have limited tools and a borrowed floor jack that has a mind of it's own. Thanks to the future ex wife!!!

You're a braver man than me - it was a bear getting that thing out while it was on a lift! You have jack up the front of the motor and turn the transmission about 30-degrees counterclockwise to get it out and or reinstall!

The tranny weighs 120lbs dry.
If laying on floor under car one man can bench press that thing in and out. If your doing it from a lift its prolly gonna take two sets of hands.

rent a transmission dolly and prevent the permanent back injury. The transmission dolly will allow you to tilt and maneuver the tranny.

If you have the T-3650 Tremec transmission it weighs between 120-132 pounds. Unknown if that includes fluid.

Thanks guys but had no choice in my situation. I had to beg mom for the 5000.00 for the lawyer. But feel free to donate to help racerx get to see his daughter fund. It's been since 9/11/2012 that I have not seen my daughter. I have not cried since losing my best friend at age 17. My mom had no clue on how to console me she has not seen me cry. She called my aunt for backup!!!

I have to post a pic of my newest bruised up arm the transmission fell off the floor jack onto my arm . It did some nice damage I was shocked my arm didnt break. I will pass on doing any transmission job on the ground again.
