Just got this as an early Christmas present for my pool table room.
A very cool tree that you can practice your reaction times on, or run in a display mode.
It has advanced settings like the ability to create multiple users with custom dialins, shift points and a standard or pro tree option that can be vared from .100 to .900 seconds.
That way you can simulate full run passes, either handicapped or straight up.
For the straight line types, it doesn't get much better than this.
Some pretty good deals on Portatree items now, up to 10% off selected systems and free shipping in the U.S.
Tested it out recently with some buddies and frosty beverages, and even just with lauch practices it was a blast.
Attached File  Tree.jpg   149.92K   88 downloadsGreat gift for yourself or your favorite drag racer/fan.

Any other cool stuff out there?

Always looking for cool illuminated items to add to the games room.

I got it right from the manufacturers
http://www.portatree.com

I ended up getting this package deal:
http://www.portatree...nator_tree.html

but I probably should have gone straight for this one, as I want to get the reaction time display now, and it would have been cheaper to get it right from the start:
http://www.portatree...-3152-DISP.html

Free shipping is a great deal on it too, my boxed unit was 65 lbs and measured 48" long x 20" wide x 8" tall

For Canadian members, I should add that I used the free shipping to the U.S. to send it to one of the closest parcel services in Pembina. I knew that a buddy of mine was going down to the U.S. anyways, so I got him to pick it up for me on his way back up.

It's awesome, there is no way my wife is going to spend that much right before Christmas. I'll have to wait for spring on that one!

Here is something else that may be a nice gift and that is something many of us could use.  It is called G-Floor Garage Flooring:  www.g-floor.com  This is from an ad that appeared in a car magazine:  "Forget expensive and messy epoxy for your garage floor. G-Floor's oil-resistant flexible PVC garage flooring is inexpensive, long lasting, looks great and is easy to install — just roll it out; no painting or floor tiles to snap in place. Cleanup is a cinch; sweep up dirt or, for the big messes, wash down with soap and water.  Several different textures including diamond plate and a circular coin pattern and thicknesses are available in Red Brick, Royal Blue, Forest Green, Slate Grey, Midnight Black, Metallic Silver and Sandstone.  Cost? About $200 for a single-car garage. Log on to the company's website for more information and a list of retailers."  I don't have any connection with the company and have not ordered it yet but it may be something that is affordable and a quality product (imagine that).

I had been looking for some time for a stool that was at the right height for TIG welding at a table I welded up. I saw some fancy ones at The Ford Collection but felt they were priced just a little too high. When I received an email saying they were 20% off, I didn't get just one but two. They are US made (Chicago I believe) and while they do not thread up and down they do swivel on a bearing. They are very well made and I believe the thick material used on the seat should prove to be durable. For scale, the dogs you see are my Great Danes...

Sorry for the crappy cell photos. They also sell stool seats with a small back on them as well.

That flooring is pretty sharp, and affordable too.
Unfortunately for me at this time, my garage is pretty old and needs a complete rebuild some day, its on the list.

Those stools are just what I need, could use 4 of them around the table.
The .ca site doesn't show the GT500 ones, have to see if I can get them from the .com site, or at least ship them to a parcel service for pickup again.

Thanks for the nice suggestions!

I have been looking at some wall art, banners or metal signs. Anyone have one they really like?

If you've ever looked at my gallery of pics, you'll see I love to take pics of my GT 500 in/at the National Parks we visit.  I took just a little time the other night and produced a 12 month desk calendar from Shutterfly for less than $20.  Now, not everyone would apprecate a calendar of my car and travels, but it's a sweet "here you go honey" idea when she (or the kids/grandkids) ask what to get Pops for Christmas!

Those are cool! I'm getting ready to order some things from Shelby, does anyone have any of their metal signs? I was thinking about buying a couple of the larger piece's for the garage walls.

I haven't figured out all the details of this particular piece of wall art, but check through svtperformance.com's photos from SEMA 2012. A company out of Sanford, FL had a very large metal snake emblem (looked 3 ft tall or more) that was painted blue on the inside similar to the red snake emblems available for our cars. They posted another photo of a company reprentative's card with contact info. I highly recommend checking it out! If I find the link, I will post it up.

I can't find their website and the address is a Disney product company (Paradies Gifts). Not sure the deal so I'd advise giving him a call. The address and fax number are the same for both so maybe it's a side project that they are working on.

I'm on it, sent a email and if I don't have a responce by Monday I will call. I wouldn't mind that Cobra, high gloss "shiny" 3D, would be sweet ig it had some color options. Yeah my garage wall needs that.

Those are pretty nice, look very well made. $95 each is a little steep but with the coupon would have been a great deal.
