Rumor has it that there is an automatic available with 1500 HP rating that can be put in the Shelby SS 850 or Shelby 1000. I beleive it has to be installed by the SM shop. Is this possible? I herd about during the factory tour a couple of weeks ago and a cpouple of individuals are interested.

I tried email contact on your web page, but it did not load.

Thank you,

Don

I actually tried to see if a GT350 with supercharger could be had with an automatic, but no response. No one had rated any of the automatics available for the 2011. Now apparantly there is a high performance rated auto available from the S/A M Shop, but no one seems to want to talk about it officially. So rumors, bad info or what I do not know.

If there is no response to customer inquiry nor info for the SA staff elsewhere, I gotta wonder.

they would not install a Supercharger on the GT350 with an Automatic! Seems FORD lives in the dark ages since you can get the Camaro ZL1 with an 6-spd Automatic or is it 7 plus the 550hp Cadillac CTS-V has a 7-spd Automatic. My 2008 Shelby GT/SC they installed a Kenne Bell and has over 500hp and 5spd Automatic with ZERO issues. There is NO reason why they can't sell the GT500 with a 6 or 7spd Automatic

+1

I don't get it either, from GM to Bentley, there are automatics that can handle high torque and HP. And paddle shifters (now available of the Ford Explorer Sport automatic) are long overdue on Mustangs. But we await a response from the shop.

Folks, the SAMS staff is not on the forums as much as you may be used to.
If you really want an answer from them, try emailing FrankieM@ShelbyAmerican.com if you haven't already.

Is this something you'd like to have installed at Shelby (or used on a new Shelby SS or 1000 being built here), or available through Shelby Performance Parts? I will be happy to look into it for you.

Thanks,

Jer

Just received word from Frankie at Shelby Motorsports shop that there is NO such automatic available. I was misinformed during the Tour.
