I think it will get $100,000 ... it is an important car but it has to have the right buyer looking and understanding what this car means to Shelby history.

I believe they've corrected that description error, as the OP's link above shows 5 speed.

Good they corrected the online trans description.

Why does the car that CS is leaning on have the 'GT' side badges and the auction car pics have the Ford Performance side badges?

I have to presume as a concept car, the Powered By Ford badges were not installed or maybe considered yet, hence the GT badging still on the car.  Steve?

I know they want more Steve, but that's my official guess - $142,000 to be exact :spend:

Why does the car that CS is leaning on have the 'GT' side badges and the auction car pics have the Ford Performance side badges?

I have to presume as a concept car, the Powered By Ford badges were not installed or maybe considered yet, hence the GT badging still on the car.  Steve?

Here's the rundown on SGT fender badges.

The original SGT prototypes had no SAI installed fender badges, they retained the GT emblems that were part of the Ford Mustang GT base car.

At some point in the SGT design stage reproduction 1960's Powered by Ford aluminum plaques were installed on the fenders replacing the Mustang GT emblems. Both Ford and SAI agreed this was an improvement over the GT fender emblems but it was felt that these 1960's PBF plaques were lacking something but most likely would end up being used on the production cars.

Further down the SGT design road a new more modern plastic PBF emblem was found in Ford's parts pipeline and it was agreed upon that this revised PBF plastic emblem was a perfect fit for the SGT. Only problem was Shelby GT production was to start soon and Ford wouldn't have these new plastic PBF emblems ready in time for the start of SGT production.

It was then decided that SAI would use the 1960's aluminum PBF plaque version on the first hundred or so Shelby GT's and then would switch over to the new plastic PBF emblems once Ford received them from their supplier. In the end that never happened. Because of delays in starting SGT production Ford was able to supply the new plastic PBF emblems in time for them to be used on production SGT's.

The Barrett-Jackson auction photos are showing the early stages of the Shelby GT prototype where its still wearing the Mustang GT fender emblems. At some point it went to the 1960's emblems and then after the Shelby GT went into production the Prototype was equipped with the plastic production PBF badges so that the car would display just like a production car.

Hope this helps.
