Hey all,

I thought I would provide everyone an update of what all we have going for Shelbyfest.

I believe that Robert and Sharon are bringin a KR to the show.

Grant Dino from Gateway Performance is going to sponsor the event and help out with some things not to mention providing some cool "schwag" to give away.

R&A Motorsports will be there with their Twister Special mustangs (hopefully Jeff Yergovich the Pres. of R&A will be there, he is a swell guy and a 1st class Shelby restoration expert).

Fred from Evolution Performance has donated a $1000 (you're reading it right) gift certificate and some t-shirts to give away

Jay from JLT has donated some shirts and 2 - $100 gift certificates

Mother's Car Care products will have a representative on hand handing out goodies

Ford will have a rep there in official capacity and their level of participation is still to be determined.

I'll post updates here as I get them.

Kyle:

Sounds like the event is starting to take shape, I was just wondering if you had any suggestions where to look for lodging?? It would be neat to find a hotel with a parking garage, but I know it's kind of rural. Thanks in advance.

Superchief,

I will have the event website up very soon and there will be a ton of links for lodging there. If you would like to PM me your email address, I can already send you some of the info.

Take a look at the Shelbyfest 2008 thread for more info...I just posted there. The show itself is one day, but we're planning to go to Gateway racing the night before. Then, after the show on Saturday, I'm sure a group of us will get together for dinner like we did last year...it was a lot of fun except that I got beat on the track by Blayne....TWICE.... :banghead: (Of course he had stage II and a Torsen and blah blah blah and I got this wimpy little stock GT500. :hysterical2:

VIPs? How did you know I was coming? :hysterical2:

Brew sounds good, although I must be careful when driving. I like wheat beers. :dreamy:

when I checked last year it was mainly bed and breakfasts, which might not be a bad way to go, especially if wives are along. I'll take a look at it in a few weeks or so.

Kyle, you're not being left out of anything. Plenty of room at the inn, beer too!!!! :happy feet:

We just need to lock up our keys prior to the beer thing, don't want to get any ideas about burn out contests in the parking lot :hysterical2:

Blayne,

We will have shade available at the dealership this year and if all goes well, we are going to have a dinner/casual set down thing that evening.

Stay tuned for details.

Blayne got a new name.

Keep typing "Blayne" on each of your notes for awhile so I remember it's you. You getting the SS package? Is that why the name change?

The Shelby Fest web site is now up. Please go to www.shelbyfest.net for information and pictures from last year. I'll be there again this year. The site also contains a list of B&Bs in the area. I live about 6 miles away and if anyone would like to keep their car at my house, you are more than welcome. I can always take you back to the place you are staying.
