For those that are staying in Hermann or close by, you might be interested in getting together at Hardees. There is alot of room in the parking lot and Hardees does not mind. The local car club usually has their monthly cruise there on the 2nd Friday of the month. Many of us bring coolers filled with our favorite beverages and foldup chairs in case you get tired of standing. There is plenty of light so you see each others face if you need to. Our car club usually starts getting together there at around 7PM and it last until the lights go out around 10:30. Afterwards, you can cruise the town. Hardees is located about 2 blocks south of the Hermann Motel so you crawl back if you need to.

This is just an idea for those that are staying in Hermann Friday night.

Blue,

I can speak from experience that the gathering at Hardees is very cool and the folks in Hermann are outstanding. I will try to get some of the Friday night folks to meet there after we cruise in St Louis.

I'm always up for a party.

This whole event sounds like a great time to be had, to bad I'll be out of town then. I'd have to procure a Mustang rental though, and they're probably all taken by now.

The ShelbyFest web site has a dinner planned with a get together at someplace called "Chuck A Burger" is that THE event? If so why are we splintering off in different directions? Is it the drive to the other event? I can't believe it's that far. I mean after all the effort and distances people are coming there are some that can't see driving a little Friday night? The intent of this is a Fest to get everyone together. I'm not driving 500 miles to stay in sub group separated by 12 miles.

Jeff,

The friday night cruise and get together at the Chuck a Burger is to provide the folks that cruise into St Louis on Friday some way to get together. It's casual thing and you don't have to attend if you would rather focus your energies on Saturday in Hermann, which is the main event.

We put the Friday night thing together since we could no longer go to Gateway International Raceway since they are now having a Harley sponsored event instead of a public test and tune.

By the time Shelbyfest weekend is over, I promise you will have had a great time.

You can email me at mustangfever@gmail.com directly if you have any additional questions.

Kyle,

I'm coming in on Friday to participate in what ever events are on tap and will be with what is shaping up to be a large northern contingent. The majority of us are staying in O'Fallon and I didn't realize it was a two hour drive to Hermann from there. That was my confusion. I apologize it seemed as if people were going off in different directions. Maybe I need to change my hotel from the sound of it.

I just suggested this for people who are staying in Hermann on Friday night for something to do rather than to stay at the hotel or B&B. I didn't mean to cause any confusion amongst anyone. If you are staying in Hermann Friday night, there is also a great wings place open. It is called Wings A Blazin, it is located on E. 4th St. I think they have the best wings in MO. After you get done there, you can have desert at Pie In Time just at the end of the block from Wings A Blazin. After the cruise, you can gather at Crossroads Bar & Grill. They have a DJ there every Friday and Saturday night and is located about 1.5 miles north of Hermann on HWY 19.

Jeff, alot of people are staying at the Baymont in O'Fallon. I think the majority of folks are staying in O'Fallon, doing the Friday night event, and then driving down together from O'Fallon to Hermann in the morning. If you stay in Hermann Friday night, you miss out on the Saturday morning drive. At least I think you would. Or were you just talking about switching hotels in O'Fallon?

I just thought I would bring this up again if anyone is interested. I know that it is supposed to rain but maybe there will be a break in between the showers that you might want to gather at the Hardee's parking lot. See post number 1. I'll be there getting something to eat since I have to be at work by 8:30 so I'll have to leave Hermann by 7:15. There have been several local people call me about this show and maybe you can give them a preview. If you do any burnouts going out of the parking lot, just be careful.
