Just a general question. Does anyone use the "SVT" shift light & tone indicator to set the shift points? I use them for high speed shifting so I don't have to look down @ the Tac. I set mine @ 5500 rpms but dropped it down to 4500 to off set my delay in the shift. By the time I hear the shift tone & up shift, I already have gone an add'l 500-100 rpm.

I am interested in hearing any thoughts or Ideas.

Spring is hear! Bring on the superchargers!

Can't hear it....can't see it, but then I'm an old fart. The shift tone would have to sound like a freon horn at a soccer game to overpower my Borla exhaust. As for that nifty SVT shift light, it's all but invisible due to placement and size. If, for example, I ever chose to take my car on a 1/4 mile, I have...oops, would find it much easier just to glance at the tach. Seriously, there is NO way to hear it and the light is tiny.
IF I would ever take my car to th strip, I'd set it at 5800 and set my redline at 6400 (but that would require one of those fancy aftermarket tuners)

I can hear the shift tone barely..I also have SLP loudmouths so the exhaust is healthy. But It is easier to look for the light rather than the tac. I agree the shift tone should be louder.

Can't see the shift light cause your looking at the road and can't hear the tone because your under full throttle so does the car have a vibrate mode?

Roll the windows down and listen to your engine and you will know when to shift.!

Got mine set at 5600. End up shifting around 6000. I read somewhere you don't want to rev past 6000 with a long stroke motor such as this 5.4. Comments on this would be appreciated.

Forget about hearing the chime, especially with a helmet on. Ford should have installed a "line-out" jack to connect the chime to a small speaker built into your helmet....

Hey Willie it seems you have another mystery to solve- Your not at the track and if your shifting in all gears at that rate you should well be doing a close to or a hundred miles an hour on street tires- or more- try the strip its safer and engineered for speed- no pun intended - When I had street tires and did a gentle launch on the street and reached for six grand I blew the tires off in first and second. Can still get a nice chirp on the drag radials in second and third. I am the only idiot or car nut to run the gt 500 at the track and I have seen my share of 500s in Tucson- If this is your regular driver your getting to work in record time- Ron

Mine's set at 5000 but my limiter is set at 6500 with Evo tune. This gives me plenty of heads up so I can push it or just shift. Can't hear the chime due to Shaker 1000 cranked on Hair Nation or helmet or both! :hysterical2: I can usually see the light flash, but try to do it on feel anyway. Just play around with different settings until you find a comfortable reaction time for you. It's easy to get carried away in the heat of a race and bang the limiter. :redcard: Just wait til you put in 3.73 gears :banghead: Then you might back it down even a little lower.
