I didn't bring my car. It is having the SS hood installed and painted. I should have it back in a week or so.

hey hey hey, that's my story :slapfight:

course my encounter was heading west on I-70, and I wasn't even looking for trouble. Just got back on the highway after getting gas, and the vette comes along side while I was behind a slow car in the right lane, and vette slows down next to me just so he can hit the throttle and impress me with his exhaust. Then, when I pulled behind him to also pass the slow car, he punches the throttle to show I can't keep up with him. To his great surprise, a couple of seconds later, I was more than up with him. Then he hit the right lane and hit the throttle again as I pulled alongside. A few more seconds and he was in my rear view. I think he was massively surprised, and actually, I was a bit surprised by how hard my shelby was pulling at highway speeds. Gave him a thumbs up as I went on and he took an exit. Don't want to leave hard feelings. And his vette did look and sound good. An older one with a slightly raised hood, so at least some intake and exhaust work. Don't think it was a big block though.

Chad, thanks for the awesome ride in your car! It gave me a new found respect for the GT500's. It was like a freakin' Disneyland ride!

Likewise, it was great getting to meet you and Rebecca, LaMonte and Sue, John and Colleen, Rob and Missy, Brian and April. The blast back from Hermann Saturday afternoon was a kick! You all made it a great event for me.

I just rolled back in to Colorado Springs about noon today with 2400 new miles on the car from the trip. Its loaded with bugs and covered with grime, but, as we all discovered after this weekend, our cars won't melt in the rain and now everyone knows where the stalk is for their windshield wipers!

One of the most awesome sights was 30+ Shelby's exiting off the freeway, all with their sequential turn signals blinking in unison. Cool!!

Looking forward to next year. I've got 200 pics I'll post in the next couple of days. I'll post a link.

Wes

KC- That wasn't me. I hung out with Lamonte and his family for the day. I had a vista blue/white shelby. I would have killed for that weather on Sunday to have been on Saturday!
My little race got up to the 150 range. Almost the same set up. This all american came right up on my a$$ and it kinda pi$$ed me off. I wasn't sure he wanted to race so I just slowly accelerated to put some distance between us. He must have thought that was all the Shelby had to offer........that was a MISTAKE! lol. So he catches up and changes lanes, nothing infront of us as far as I could see. We were running about 70 so I dropped it down into 4th. I heard him gear down as well. I took one look over to him and we were off. I was thrilled with the 15 car lengths I yanked on him! I slowed down looking for another run....hummmmm, for some reason he wouldnt get back up next to me.?.? lol I'd guest it to have been a yearly 2000 model.

Wes- You are more then welcome for the ride. I'm really glad you made it home, it was such a long trip for you. You are so right about the cars. I'm really glad my Shelby got a little dirty. Now I can drive it and not worry about it. It really is a wieght off the shoulders, I enjoy the car even more now! Please hook me up with link. It looked like you had a sweet camera and i'm sure you got some sweet pics! Very happy to have met you bro!
