Well today marks the end of a long ordeal to get my car back to full speed. I spent a very interesting day with the boys at BB&T Racing in Southaven MS and Jon Lund finalizing my tune. We made three pulls to optimize my tune. Before I give you the details I want to say THANK YOU to Jon and to the boys at BB&T. Jon knows exactly what this car should be doing and predicted the outcome of every change in the tune! Derrick and John at BB&T assisted me and also knew their stuff! It is great to deal with people you can trust! These results were based on a tank of gas with one can of Torco in it. This is also based on a Mustang dyno which runs about 5% lower than a Dynojet.

Now for the results…. (drum roll please…)

The numbers in red are what we ran today. The run actually peaked at 801 RWHP but the dyno graph cut it off as it was achieved outside of the logging band. Using the same 5% correction factor that on a dynojet would have been around 841 RWHP!

All along I was shooting for 800 RWHP and I feel satisfied that I am there!

Here is a link to my pull on YouTube!

It feels good to feel like I can put my foot in it once again after babying my car for the last 1000 miles during breakin, but honestly I have yet to stomp it. I played around with it a bit coming home but it screams at partial throttle so I will need to relearn this car before going to the track. It is a good problem to have though! Here is the graph for your viewing pleasure!

Hey John,

Very cool! I am glad that you are back up and running. Incredible RWHP numbers!

Congrats on the great numbers......wow...must be nice to have the good parts in your engine! 6700 rpm?? yikes...but cool! Do you have any idea if you could turn it higher? It doesn't look to be flattening out at what the dyno sheet shows.

It actually is flattening out. This is our second run. Our third run was even more aggressive on fuel and timing but only eeked out 2 more RWHP and about 6ft lbs torque. I opted for the more conservative tune since there was no real gain. I would not shift at 6700 at the track even though the engine can handle it. I would look more to stay in the higher torque portion of the power curve. Probably shift around 6400.
