I see you are in Ont CA, I am pretty sure I told you about the car in SoCal on TM.com but you didn't contact me about it. So is SoCal too far for a car that will make the drive back?

There have been a number of CSX"s on the westcoast for sale over the last few months. I know #152 was on Craigslist for a number of months with no takers.

Hi Alan, I dont recall seeing a post / PM from you but i'm in Ont, CANADA! not CA (california) so yeah West Coast is just a bit too far for my liking.... Even if i can drive back it just doesnt fit my schedule too well to make that trip at the moment. Thanks for the info though.

Yay, Another Shelby in Canada! I just bought 1987 GLHS #0075 and am in Calgary. I'm waiting for the
-29 C temp and 4 cm of snow to go away so that I can enjoy a drive that's longer than around the block.
I still need an out of province inspection and an appraissal done so I can appease my insurrance company and get it registered.

Nice! Just FYI, if you bought the car in the US you can use the customs declaration receipt as an appraisal at the ministry of transportation, at least thats how it works in Ontario.

No... apparently the transmission was rebuild by Forward Motion a couple years ago. The previous owner must've liked to advertise. Besides the engine bay sticker, there is also HUGE "FORWARD MOTION" across the top of the back window in the same gold font as the CSX decals. Doesnt look too bad but i'm not one for big advertisements like that so it'll be coming off soon.

As for information< I can tell you that back when I bought my CSX on June 6, 2007, I received a phone call (en route while towing my CSX home) from a buddy of mine who's real big on Ford Focus' asking me if I'd be interested in an 89 CSX out in eastern PA, #91, as it was being put up for sale by a friend of his also into the Focus scene. Turns out it was this one and compared to the one I brought home, the one you got has so much going for it! hahhaa... So anyways, basically just wanted to tell you it had a stay here in PA for some time before being sold to the guy you bought it from in Florida.
Again, congrats!

Small world! There were some receipts that came with some of the original documentation of the car that also confirms its life in PA. The car was originally shipped to Lancaster Dodge in Lancaster PA on 6/2/89.(Thanks Barry!). It went on to have what looks to be 3 owners in PA before heading to FL last year. It's life in PA was not a smooth one... at some point it was hit in the right side so the passenger door and rocker have been replaced but other than that it is in very good condition. I believe i am the 5th owner of this car.

Yes that is correct. When the Whittier plant added the rear wing spoiler NHTSA decided it was blocking the factory Chrysler 3rd brake light mounting on the hatchback. So Shelby added the additional 3rd brake light (well I guess we could call it the 4th brake light) to the rear wing. This rear wing light was tapped into the factory 3rd brake light wiring.
Steve
PS- On a related note the supplier of the rear wing spoiler, Kaminari Inc, also produced an almost identical rear wing for the aftermarket industry. This aftermarket wing was just like the Shelby wing except it had a strip of LED lights molded into the center of the wing to act as a 3rd brake light.
