Hey All!
A friend of mine recently passed away, in going through his garage we happened upon a 2003 supercharged Mustang Cobra Motor.
I am attempting to assess its value for his wife, it came out of a low milage roll over I believe, there is minor damage to the front pulley, I know I know, who am I to say minor damage, back in the day I ran a '70 Mercury Cyclone GT with the 429 CobraJet and drag pack against her husbands corvettes. Hence me being asked to get info on this engine.
Plate on valve cover says Romeo Niche plant, SVT 4.6 liter 4V Mustang Cobra. I can supply pics if needed, also serial numbers.
Anyone have any ideas what she has here??
I can be reached at dangilstrap (at) gmail (dot) com with any questions.

Thanx for your indulgence.

Danny

Sounds like you already know what it is, a 03-04 SVT terminator mustang motor. Value is subjective, miles and condition will play into it. Does she have the wiring harness and computer for it? You may want to check EBay and some FRPP vendors for reference prices

Have to check on computer, there is a wiring harness and ignition key and lock with the motor. Also found out the car had 1100 miles on it when the fool wrecked.

He was planning to drop it into an 89 Mustang GT he has sitting in the garage next to his 03 SVT Cobra (less than 1200 miles). I did manage to convert him to Ford a few years back.

She hasn't decided on whether to sell the other 2 stangs yet, but is looking to get the engine out quickly. I was trying to find out what the engine might be worth, but hit the usual 10million hits in google, and spent an hour looking before I decided to try this forum. The only supercharged 4.6 I saw on Ebay was being sold in pieces, I really didn't want to total up all the odds and ends ;-)

I'm thinking I'm going to have to start calling recyclers soon. FRPP vendors??

Last time i saw a one of those motors on ebay they were going for $5500 and higher easy. But that was when they were available. Now those engines are hard to find so i would assume they would go for at lest $8000 w/wiring harness but it just depends on the buyer.

Those are damn good engines. Lots of potential, just like the GT500. I've heard of the bottom end handling up to 800hp on the 4.6.

Good luck hope that helps.
