The R&D has not stopped. I've been working with C&R to develop a Heat Exchanger with dual 550 CFM Puller Fans to help further reduce our IAT2's. The unit will be comprised of a proprietary core available only to C&R and used exclusively in NASCAR. It will also be dual pass similar to an AFCO but with a combined 1100 CFM's of puller fan capacity. The possiblities are huge when you consider low speed downshifting and cornering when our IAT2's really begin to build up. I am in hopes of having the prototype unit late next week and installed for testing at Homestead October 25. Pricing has yet to be determined however I will say that it will be more than competitive with other units available on the market today.

In a little over two weeks I will be able to tell you what the datalogs compile. Here's to reducing Heat Soak!

Think of the possibliities for drag racers! Sit in the staging lanes and have a nice cool charge without having to get an auxilliary fan to sit in front of the Heat Exchanger.

It worked on the Lightnings!

I'm so in :yahoo:

You're a cool man Van putting out the fire for us race warriors :extinguish:

When it's all said and done and we have them where we want them to be we need to get these race prepped GT500's together on a track like Road America or Willow Springs, a big road course track, not a super speedway.

Who's up for it? :shift:

I can't wait to get this thing installed and do some datalogs.

There are openings for this December at Daytona on the 24 Hour course. 3 Days on the High Banks at Daytona!!!! It's with the National Audi Club, Ohio Chapter. I'm instructing at that one too so I'm sure I'll get to see all sorts of different lines, hopefully all on pavement! :hysterical:

Getting all of these cars together would be awesome. Mid-Ohio? Even easier if oil keeps coming down!

My roll cage might be done by then. Doubt I will be though. Anything after CS86 is open..except for April when the twins are due and the BBORR. Now there would be a place to get all of us together. The Big Bend Open Road Race. Give those Corvettes a run for their money :shift: The Big Bend Open Road Race is April 22 - 25, 2009. :happy feet: 195 days and counting. 168 tech and 150mph average here I come.

I think I'd be interested in this setup...depending on the cost.

Interesting update.....................

I just finished datalogging LEESTOYSTANG which has the Whipple 3.4 with a 3.750 upper and stock exhaust with the AFCO Heat Exchanger. We are datalogging so Jon Lund can best tweak the tune. We did multiple WOT blasts. Temperature outside was a very nice and cool 64 degrees. Cool for South Florida mind you. LEE had a TVS at one time. He changed to the Whipple looking for more power.

The datalog was surprising as I strictly monitored the IAT2's for this project (among other things) Here are the number samplings at WOT with the AFCO at 17 plus LBS of boost on a cool night.

I know everybody likes to see statistical data and this is very prevalent data considering my datalogs are in track conditions and the outside temperature is 20 plus degrees higher 15 minutes into the session. His temps were with engine coolant temp at 200 degrees and just blasts down the road and they climbed well above my temps.
