love it. are those fr500 wheels? did you have to do anything to get the fronts to clear the brakes? i imgine you had the rears widened? 11.5", 12.0", 12.5"? did you remove the bump stop brackets? i imagine you had to relocate the shocks as well. what else? come on stop teasing us.

The wheels are made in the USA Ford Racing FR500 wheels, not the china knock offs. The wheels come as a 24mm offset, which is almost an inch less offset than the factory GT500 wheel, so the wheel sits outwards more; this gave me the extra amount I was looking for to get the 12 inch wide rims (added 3"). The FR500 rims are 9" wide before widening. I left the front 9" wide and I think I like how the tire fits better than when it was on the 9.5 wheel. The rear tire are 335/30-18 Michelin Pilot Sports. They are a lot wider than the Nittos 335's.

As far as fitment, I have driven it a bit and went through a hard off camber driveway at an angle and the inside of the tires rubbed the inner well slightly. It was not bad, but the tires should not hit, so I am going to machine up some .250" wheel spacers and it should do the trick. We will see how it looks after the spacers. The shock are in the stock location and I removed the covers. The rim is real close to the body of the shock when the suspension is full extended. Tomorrow we are going to move the shock over 1/4" by changing the shock bushing on the bottom at it will be fine. I cut the bump stop bracket back a little too. The sway bar has no issue.

I really like the Fr500 wheels and the look it gives the car--exactly what I was looking for and the rims are Ford Racing! The bad part, I bought 5 different wheel styles to try on the car and we cut the wheels and welded spuds on the inside of the wheel lip to get the widest wheel we could. I did this so we could trial fit each wheel to get the widest wheel possible.

My opinion is the 30 series tire is too low, so I am ordering the 345/35-18's and will move the inside of the inner fender well.
But this mod won't get done till after xmas, because I have the KB stage III and headers to install first.

Looks great! Any issues with the front brakes?

i agree with you. i have been eying these wheels for a while now for the same reason you stated, they are frpp and they look sweet to me.

can you clear up a few more details?

1. you say you rubbed- was that in the rear or the front?

2. did the front 9" 24mm offset wheels clear the front with no issues (brakes)?

3. if you added 2.5" would you of had to still cut the bump stop bracket to clear the wheel/tire?

4. with the less offset of 24mm you are right it pushes the wheel out quite a bit (0.82" compared to stock). is there any issues with potential rubbing with the fender?

5. can you give us more pictures from the a top view so we can see how far out the wheels extend?

6. can you give us a close up shot of the wheel/tire so we can see how much they bulge?

7. can you give us some shots from under the car with the car loaded? would like to see how close to the bumpstop bracket/shock/inner fender/sway bar.

8. what suspension mods?

9. how many turns with the lugnuts on these wheels? do you get 6+ full turns?

10. if i were to choose to go 11.5" in the rear would i be able to clear the bumpstop bracket and shock with no mod. i am running 11.0" stockers and get some slight rubbing with the bumpstop bracket. my math says it should since i should get .18" / 4.5mm more clearance on the inside. but you never now.

once again car looks fantastic and anxiously look forward to some more pictures. brad

can you clear up a few more details?

1. you say you rubbed- was that in the rear or the front?--REAR RUBBED ON RIGHT SIDE

2. did the front 9" 24mm offset wheels clear the front with no issues (brakes)?-----FRONT BRAKES FIT WITH NO ISSUE

3. if you added 2.5" would you of had to still cut the bump stop bracket to clear the wheel/tire?--- YES, BUT LESS

4. with the less offset of 24mm you are right it pushes the wheel out quite a bit (0.82" compared to stock). is there any issues with potential rubbing with the fender?----POSSIBLY, BUT HAS NOT HAPPENED

5. can you give us more pictures from the a top view so we can see how far out the wheels extend?----YES I'LL TAKE SOME MORE

6. can you give us a close up shot of the wheel/tire so we can see how much they bulge?

7. can you give us some shots from under the car with the car loaded? would like to see how close to the bumpstop bracket/shock/inner fender/sway bar.---- ABOUT A 1/2 INCH OF THE BUMP STOP

8. what suspension mods? EIBACH SPORTLINE SPRINGS, ADJUSTABLE CONTROL ARMS IN THE REAR

9. how many turns with the lugnuts on these wheels? do you get 6+ full turns? DONT KNOW BUT I WILL CHECK AS YOU HAVE ME CURIOUS

10. if i were to choose to go 11.5" in the rear would i be able to clear the bumpstop bracket and shock with no mod. i am running 11.0" stockers and get some slight rubbing with the bumpstop bracket. my math says it should since i should get .18" / 4.5mm more clearance on the inside. but you never now.

A quick note about how far the wheels bulge out from the fenders. Now I do not have an adjustable panhard bar yet.

I measured with a straight edge from the tire to the fender and the right side bulges out 0.155" and the left .505"

To be honest, I really like the left side better, and that is the pic in the post.

So today, I machined up a spacer for the right side to bring out the wheel .350" and that should fix the rubbing on the right side too. Tomorrow I need to get the longer studs.
