I'm working on a series of travel videos and want to hit up car shows along the way. Something along the lines of "the misadventures of a shelby road trip" or something...its a work in progress. Anyways, I'm going to start in Key West and head North.
Anyone know of any car shows in FL or the Southeast during January/Feb? I know of the roundup in Silver Springs, Jan 10-11. But anything, even if its just a monthly get-together at the local Food Lion...or whatever. There are good stories to be had everywhere. And hell, I just like going to car shows...
Any help would be much appreciated.

There are several car shops through out Florida, but not many large show room type. I am in the Orlando area and there a few places you could visit depending on what you are looking for.
Powered by Ford is downtown and is a big Ford Racing distributor, not a huge show room as they do a lot of mail order. http://www.poweredbyford.com/store/
A local mustang mod shop Lamotta Performance is just north of downtown in Longwood. http://www.lamottaperformance.com/
If you want to get your car dynoed or customed tuned you can venture NW 30-40 minutes to Debarry and visit VMP, they are by appointment only. http://www.vmptuning...store/index.php?
As far other notable car oriented destinations in Central Florida, in Ocala next to I-75 is NPD, oriented toward early model car restoration parts. Catch them on a slow day and talk nice to the counter sales staff you can ask to see the owner's private collection (+100 cars, mostly low mileage). http://www.npdlink.com/ If by chance you are in this area around 1/9-1/11 NPD is hosting the Ford & Mustang Roundup (+1000 cars) and on 1/9 we meet in the NPD parking lot (AM) for a cruise to Cedar Key for lunch. On the return the NPD private collection will be open.
Just south of Ocala is Bid Daddy (Don Garlits) Museum of Drag Racing. http://www.garlits.com/
As far as shows and cruise-ins the best source for information is http://www.flacarshows.com/index.htm . In Orlando there is a cruise-in every Friday night in the Casselburry Commons Shopping Center 6:30 - 10:00 and there is normally close to 100 cars ranging to early models to late model muscle.
I am not sure where "Dunedin" is located in Florida, perhaps it is Dunnellon? If so this is near the Ocala area.
Enjoy your stay!

Here in Tallahassee Florida, for the past 7 Years, I have personally been putting on the Monday Night Mustangs at HOOTERS, on the First Monday of the Month. It has always been the Largest Gathering of Mustangs in this area.

Keith,
Most of us tend to meet at the Sat. nite GTG of one of the local clubs.
The club is Mid Fla. Mustang Club and we meet in Cassleberry on the 2nd sat of each month,6 till 9 pm. On any given nite there will be anywhere from 2 to 4 GT500s and as many SGTs.
Try to make the Ocala show. Let us know if you can so we can meet up and go in as s group
