Rented GT-H convertible in Sep 2007 for 4 days. Was intent on buying a convertible Shelby GT-500 as the GTs were only coupes. Wanted an automatic convertible Shelby with over the top stripes. Read about the debut of the 08 SGT convertible in October (I know, I was not aware this car had been announced for several months).

Ordered mine through overseas military car sales in November 2007. Shelby mods were completed in February 2008. Delivered in March 2008. I have only spent about 10 days total with the car. I am completing a 15 month tour in Iraq and will be returning in a few DAYS. I can't wait to get reunited with my family and drive this wonderful car again. Sorry but these are the same old photos I have posted before but if you haven't seen one of these cars before here your are.

Vista Blue, Premium, Drop Top, !!!AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION!!!, Woven Charcoal IUP, Heated Seats, Shaker 1000, Sirius, Anti-Theft, HID Headlamps, Ambient Lighting

edit - the car was so new in these photos that there was still black packing tape covering the brake light on the 1968 Shelby style light bar

I was planning to buy a new Corvette to replace one recently sold...saw this blue thing and fell in love.
Did you ever see a 60s muscle car and say "I wish i had bought one of those whan it was new"...Didn't want to miss this one!! :happy feet:

Between 1977, 1062, dig-it(1716), 1234, and myself we've got at least 5 08SGT members within a few hours of each other (NC, VA, MD, WV).

Olblue, your lower grille looks great. I also love the lower grille + driving lights on AFBLUE's SGT. A must have for these cars!

We should all get together with our Vista Blue Shelby's sometime since we are in close proximity!!

GT500-07 with his GO GT-C and other collection of fine Shelby's is nearby as well as some others TS members no doubt.

I spoke with Carl (1234) yesterday. He said he's planning on making a day trip up here to Hampton Roads in the next few weeks - weather permitting. We should all get together then.

The corvette forum does a spring run on the blue ridge parkway...I have made many an enjoyable motorcycle pass on the BRP. Maybe plan a meeting for Spring? Only downside...45 MPH thoughout...ever get a FEDERAL speeding ticket? :angry22:

Kevin,

I just checked accuweather.com and it's showing 52 and sunny for next Saturday (1/3) up your way. If the forcast holds I'm up for making the tirp up. Just let me know.....

That sounds good too.

For everyone else, Mark and Carl are both doing me a huge favor. Since I'm only here till the end of January and won't be back until June, we're trying to put something together in the near future.

I saw mine on the show room floor while I was ordering a vista blue GT premium; it was about 4' away from the fleet manager’s desk and I could not keep from looking at it the whole time I was there but I went ahead and ordered the GT anyway the day before Thanksgiving in 07 which would give time to sell my truck before it was delivered since mileage, condition and mods seem to be worth nothing when trading a vehicle. My truck sold on Dec 3 for $6,000 more than what was offered on trade(gave half of that back in taxes). Since my plan was to sell my truck and write a check for the difference for a new GT, I stressed back and forth over calling my salesman and tell him I wanted the Shelby and spending the extra 10 grand over what I ordered, but after driving a Sentra for a couple of days and the thought of having to drive it for at least another month made my decision to buy the Shelby a little easier. I called the salesman and agreed on a price over the phone and I drove it off the showroom floor on Dec 8 with 9 miles on it. We stopped at Longhorns on the way back and before I could get it parked a waiter came out and was taking pictures with a cell phone. Even with the cosmetic issues I have had with the car I would do it again.

Jeff

Thanks,

I bought it through SPP (wanted the Shelby label) and had Modular Power House in Cartersville GA. do the install. They are KB recomended and test for them as well, they also have one of their cars on K/B's web page.
