Is there a Shelby group in the New Orleans area? I know of at least 5 Shelby's down here.

I'm not certain about N.O., but in Mandeville the Northshore Mustang Club has at least one Shelby member. I thought about joining, but I'm more interested in just getting together with a group to do a cruise. Where are you located? I'm in Covington.

Maybe we can get all the Louisiana owners to chime in.....

I'm in Hammond.. A friend of mine, is in Destrehan, He has 2. I have none Maybe he'll let me drive one.

The had a "get together" close to the lake front in November, but I was in South Africa and missed it.. I have one pic.. I'll share it soon.

I spoke to my friend in Destrehan, He is interested, he knows one of the guys in NO and he might be too.

What do ya'll say.. Wanna do something soon? Lunch and maybe a cruise somewhere??

Here in BR, but not a Shelby owner. I have friends here who are. I know there are a number of people who are SVTOA members in the NO area who get together periodically there, as well as here. (Ususally before going out to NPR for some test and tune)
There is a monthly show at Tanger mall in Gonzales during the warmer months (should be starting up again in April).

Might look in the News on Wheels or the local pares cars section. It was called Ford Performance Group at one time. There should also be some local Mustang clubs, like the Northshore club that may be of some help. Northshore is a very active club, with a good annual show adn a variety of other activities.
If you're willing to do a little driving, the Pensacola show, coming up in March is always good, and then there's the Mustang 45th show in Birmingham that will be well worth the effort to get to (about a 5-6 hour drive), but register soon and get a hotel.

We do a yearly show in November and get entrants from all over.

The Tanger show is a locally hosted monthly show held at the Tanger Outlet mall off of I-10, across from the Cabellas store. It's held the third Saturday of the month around 5pm till 8pm from April to October.

Hope to meet up with all of you at one or more of these events.

Unless something terrible happens, I'll be there.
My intentions are to leave here and join up with the Mustangs Across America group at their, Jackson, MS. lunch stop. I'm already joined up with them online, and look forward to being a part of that 500 car caravan into B'Ham. (It will ad some time to my trip, but I think it'll be well worth it) I'll be staying at the Holiday Inn in Irondale, which is a short drive from the track. It's one of two host hotels for the Mach 1 group. We usually plan at least one or two group 'functions' (in this case Friday night dinner and Saturday night at Hooters), and are trying to get to park together. The last show there was great, and this one should be at least as good. The only thing I'll miss is the fact that they don't appear to be doing 'pace' laps on the track like they did last time. But it does look like there will be more organized track events.

A get togther would be great for the New Orleans people. I can get a group of at least 7 GT500's and Shelby GT's from the area. A number of them are going the Pensacola Mustang show March 20th. Let's try to put something together before then. Email me at bosspwr@bellsouth.net

I live in Slidell, i'll have to keep an eye out for dates etc..
