To all of you driving into Hermann from the West:

There are several of us meeting up at R&A Motorsports just off 50-Hwy in Lee's Summit, MO at 12 Noon on Friday (April 24th)...

Anyone driving along the route (Hwy 50 thru Sedalia to Jeff City then Hwy 94 into Hermann) is welcome to jump in at any time... Should be about a 3 hour drive (approx 180 miles) with "pit-stops" as needed...

I expect to arrive in Hermann no later than 4pm... So that should give everyone enough time to check-in to their Hotel/Mote/B&B and still have plenty of time to drive on to Gateway (another 90 miles) for the Midnight Madness event later that night...

Right now, I'm not sure if my wife and I are going to stay in Hermann or go on to Gateway??? However, we are staying BOTH nights at a B&B in Hermann, so we will need to drive back after Midnight if we go...

This is one of those must do in my book. You will have alot of fun there. Try it our once and you will see for yourself. Besides, there will be tours of the wineries going on.

If you could only choose one, this would be the one. Gauranteed you will have a blast and you will meet some of the greatest people.

Not much of a drinker here but I won't hold that against you :D ...Has anyone been to the midwest nationals in Tulsa? I'm really considering making plans for that already...

I was there last year and had a blast. I do plan on attending that this year.

Several members of the Mid-America Cobra Club are planning on attending this event as well, and may join the caravan from R&A.

Just out of curiosity, is there secure overnight parking for the cars at this event, or is everybody on their own for that?

0547,

We'll both see you at R&A on Friday. We'll have to put Lynell in the middle or we may loose her if it was like the last "Sunday Drive"!

The more the merrier :happy feet:

Not sure about "secure" parking lots in Hermann... But if you are bringing an original Cobra ($$$) then you might give Hermann Ford a call to see if they will let you keep it (or them) inside the dealership at night...

Speaking of "Sunday Drives..." March 15th at Thoroughbred Ford

And no worries about the cruise over to Hermann... I'll be driving my truck and trailer this year... Wife will drive the Shelby GT...

However, I don't see any problems keeping up with the crowd :shift:

Where are you staying at? I'll check with the dealer and don't see any problems with that. I'll let you all know what I find out. They may just give me the key to the back garage.

Only if everyone else is going too slow... Probably put the wife up front in the SGT with the GPS already programmed for the route... Otherwise, I plan on being last in the formation... Besides, I have too many deep treaded tires (kicking up stones and road debris) to be leading this pack...

Much appreciated, but if you guys are leaving your cars out and not worrying about folks jacking with them, we can too. As of now we've got eight members coming over, and to be honest I think they are spread out at several of the B&B's there in town.

I plan on joining.
Speeds? ~75?

I have a 3.07 final drive ratio with 13" wheels. Talking 3400 rpm at 75 mph. Now you know why many have installed a T-5 in their Tigers.

70-75 MPH was what we ran last year... Hwy 50 can be heavily patrolled at times... And Hwy 94 is mostly twisties with a few 90-100 MPH sections where you can exercise your right foot... So with "pit stops" it should take approx 3 1/2 hours to get there...

My daughter and wife got a ticket on that stretch of 94 this past year. I think they are patrolling it more recently. Wait until you get out of the hills at that last sharp turn. There is about 8 miles of straight road there.

Great..."pit stops", I can only carry 13 gallons of fuel so I will need some in route.

You can always have Gregg carry a couple of barrels in the back of his truck for you. Somone can be back there with the hose ready and fill as you go. :headscratch:
