...that's the whole point: you *don't* know what it's making while it's on the dyno (even right now)without normalizing to a standard (STD, SAE Jxxx, etc) *and* adjusting for environmentals -- you just *think* you know because a readout gives you a number and graph -- but it's meaningless in absolute terms.
Such readings are still usefull, but only for *relative* comparos done back-to-back (e.g. 'A' is 15HP higher than 'B'), even then, you only know one relative to the other and neither set of numbers are accurate (or portable to any other car/conditions/time).
The laws of physics aren't opinions -- they're reality ...they don't care what we think.

+1 on Whipple. They treated me great as well. I picked up an 05-06 kit at a good price and they answered my questions and sold me the parts I needed to use it on my '07. I also called them with a few questions after the install and they were just as helpful with immediate answers.

I apparently misunderstood your original post ...I though you meant that standards/normalizing. etc doesn't matter or isn't usefull in general.
I agree, you do know what it's making right now tho that might not be what it would have made yesterday or will tomorrow, or necessarily reflect the performance under any other set of conditions, etc. I agree that's no prob for product comparos -- same day, same car, same dyno relative testing and then re-bench each day -- and are not interested in what the combo makes under standard conditions (which clearly a manufacturer would).
Your comment on NHRA FI pro cars is interesting. I thought they compensate for elevation by changing the overdrive ratio on the SC, along with fuel etc, for air-density, etc. Still, while it affects NA cars much more (for obvious reasons) even the top fuel cars don't run nearly as fast in Denver because upping the blower ratio/pulley eats more power too, etc and ther's just not as much air for any given amount of energy/HP put into the SC-drive. Maybe that was your point since you did say how close, not that they run same.
Hope I didn't add too much tension to your day
Btw, some awesome shifting goin' on in that hot Evo! Awesome!

My wifes Passat wagon looks better than an evo...IMO.
Not all Mustangs are slow.
Back to your dyno testing how does not compensating for weather conditions make a good comparison? You are obviously great at building fast cars in the 1/4 but your science is flawed. If you do not compensate somehow you are not scientifically comparing anything as there is no repeatable control. Unless you are looking at the weather and then making an opinion about it's influence. This is basic scientific method.
As for your boring comment. Just imagine wht these guys all think of your boy racer evos...

More useless babble, thank you.
Boy racer EVO's.........ah yes, even more useless babble. Want to race? Don't worry, you won't have to look at the ugly boy racer car for long........unless you have binoculars! haha

Look Jerky I am not professing to beat your evo with a mustang, but I am sure 100% in fact that there are faster mustangs than what you are running in your fugly but quick econobox.
If those cars (evos) are so quick... I'd guess thats why NHRA runs boxer 4 bangers in the funny car class right?
Get a life and If you get to my neck of the woods I will run your arse on a track anyday...as long as it has turns.
If you want to run your evo on a 1/4 track can I run a BB drag car against it? Whatever...your smarter than us.
Fact of the matter is you bought a SGT beacause it LOOKS better than your current cars. Truth sucks huh?
Then you come on a Shelby site and talk smack. Later. Genius.
