Nieces Husband called me and said his cousin from MI who works for Ford called and asked if he wanted to drag race the new Shelby at the track this Saturday. He said they needed someone that knew how to race as the car is a 6 speed. Ken laught and said by uncle has one, I`ll bring him along. He said no, this is the Shelby GT 500. Ken went on to tell him thats what I have. They have the track booked for the day so it should be a lot of fun. He asked if I wanted to bring mine. I have less than a 1,000 miles on it and they just poured the salt to the roads last night. I have had little time at the track so if they need to see this car perform they should get someone with track time. Paul, you working any where near London on Saturday?

That is very cool...why the salt did you get snow? or Black Ice?

I would love to show up if I still had my car, Saturday is looking fantastic on the Forcast!

Lots of black ice here wednesday morning with tons of acidents. Last nite they put down the liquid stuff on all the montain roads and overpasses on the QEW . I was looking forward to the weather being great for the weekend. I don`t want any of that crap on the car. I hope they figure out what is wrong with your Shelby. Interested to know if your dealer had the 5w 50 oil for your car. Mine did not have it but Wal Mart and the super store both sell Mobil 1 5w50

Is that liquid they spray realy saline Kevin? I took Shelby into Barrie today for a wash and will be getting an oil change tomorrow before putting her back into the Ex's garage for the winter. Hopefully they have Syn 5W 50?

Actually I will be close. My brother in law is coming in from BC this weekend and they're staying in Ayr.

Dave, not sure what the stuff is but it tracks like an oil and spreads every where. If you have time, I would stop by your local Wal Mart and pick up the oil. Even if the dealer has it you will be paying large for it. I picked up a 5 litre jug and 2 one litre bottles. The filter is just a regular 5.4 so they will have it. It takes the better part of 6 & half litres to change. Glad to here you are storing the car and not selling it. These things have a way of straiting out so it would be good to keep the car for now. Hang in there.

Paul, I didn`t have your # so I could not call. There was only 6 of us there plus the track owner. We made close to 60 passes with the car. Very hard to get this thing to hook up with stock tires. The best I could do was a 13.1657 @ 111.94 . Not every day that you get to beat on someone elses car for free. All in all it was a great day.

I consider that statement damm near porn. I would kill to get that many passes with my friends and no poseurs.
