Since I received my Super Snake back from SAI, I find myself using it for car shows and the Cobra R sits in the garage.

For you guys who like specialty cars, this one is nice. As mentioned above, this is #21 of the 300 2000 Cobra R Competition Model Mustangs, and it has approx. 650 original miles. This 2000R has been used for car shows since new. It is completely original with no mods. I store it in a climate controlled garage and it has been driven just enough to keep all drivetrain parts lubricated and other parts exercised. I have the complete set of original Ford/SVT documentation. i have many pictures upon request. This is a Very Nice example of a 2000 R-Model. I am asking $45K. Please PM me, if you are interested in the very unique piece of Mustang history.

The picture below was taken for the April 2004 Mustang Enthusiast magazine feature that was done on this car.

Its a clone. The hood on the real one is higher and has slots, also the real wheels are 5 spokes and gray. Real has side exhaust on the drivers side. The back also says COBRA not Mustang. Its still a nice car though.

I thought it was a clone...but I have never seen a real one in person.

It is a clone..but in reality the hood looks correct with the exception of the added hood pins, the stock wheels would be 18x9.5 five spoke Corbra Rs...they are grey, but Ford later made polished sets in the same wheel. The real R's have side exhausts on BOTH sides and the back actually says MUSTANG and has no cutouts for the rear exit exhaust. The rear bumper is actually the same as the 2000 V6. Another way to tell is the the '00Rs have custom Recaro seats with the Cobra R emblem stiched in and the lower splitter is removable vs. aftermarket front ends that are one piece. Not to steal your thread Robert, but just wanted to clarify for folks. The one listed here is the pristine example of the correct and original '00R. Being a fellow R owner, I can tell you that you would never regret a decision to purchase and drive this model. They are amazing

Thanks for this clarification^^^^^^^^. I just realized that you had posted this reply. Even though I had an ad in this For Sale section, I did not monitor it closely except for answering PM's.

Anyway yes, my 2000 Cobra R is the "Real Thing", no clone, even the window sticker is still in place on the passenger side door glass verifying it to be real, by it's VIN.

It is still for sale. It has been to one car show and a couple of short drives since I originally placed this for sale post, the miles are still in the 650 range, it is a beautiful example of an original 2000 Cobra R. No trades please, I am downsizing my car collection.

$44K? offers?

Did anyone notice that the clone 2000 Cobra R in this thread doesn't even have the Ford Racing 2000 Cobra R 18" chrome wheels? Those are reproduction 1995 Cobra R 17" wheels in chrome.

Thanks, Robert

Since a "clone" 00R was added to my for sale thread, I thank you for posting those pictures so that there is no mistake by an unknowing buyer as to what is real and what is not in the 00R world.

I will add some additional pictures of my "real 00R" tonight, but here is one I had readily available.

The Ford installed Fuel Safe fuel cell. Note that there are no exhaust cut-outs in the bottom of the rear bumper cover, as is mentioned previously in this thread. Note the condition of the rear 1/4 panel behind the rear tire, perfect.......The right side exhaust is also visible in this photo, as well as the yellow Bilstein shock on the right side.

No, I have had no issues with the fuel cell bladder. My 95R's bladder had to be replaced last year, so there "should" be a few years left for the one in this 00R.

When my wife and I started having children back in 2001, the time for these cars became very limited. I was able to do the car show thing for a couple of years on a more regular basis, but that is not how it is now.

I am still looking for pictures. They are scattered in a few folders, so as I get time, I am putting them in one folder and adding them.

Here are some of the interior.........

The Recaro's have been covered in plastic since new, so they are perfect. The drivers floor still has the protective shipping plastic in place. Each door panel has that white sticker by the dash, I'm not sure why that is there, but that is how it came from the assy. line to the original dealership.

I have had a couple people PM me about the exact miles, I told them maybe 660-675, I had not looked at it recently. I decided I better know the exact miles, so here is a picture. I guess I over estimated the miles when I first listed this car so I would not go beyond a reasonable amount during the time it was for sale. So, the exact miles are just under 650 original miles and currently at 645.9.
