Hello everyone. For those who don't know me from another site, I will start out saying that I work for a small family-run Ford dealer in Southeast PA. I have been on TheMustangSource.com for over 5 years, and am the residental "car sales guy" who answers questions for everyone. I've been doing this job for over 12 years now, at the same store. I say this, so you know that the information I posted here is 100% factual!!! By my Shelby Member #, I've been here for a while, but not having a GT500, or Shelby GT, I don't post too much, but I am a GIANTANTIC car guy, who is 1st and foremost a car nut, who happens to sell cars 2nd. I'm a straight shooter (just ask Greggara, BPMURR, AFBLUE, and Zeindog (who ordered our only GT500 allocation, which is on its way) and hate dealers that BS people. Heck, I'm posting a document that 99% of Ford dealers won't post, to show you how up front I am.

Ok, on to the bad news!!! Our Ford rep is here today, so we can order our August Wholesale. With that, she gave our Fleet Manager (he orders most of the cars) and our Dealer, and myself these sheets that show important build information for each model line (things like new packages, limits on what is available, dates on when things start buying/building, like the 2010 Taurus). Well I look at Mustangs and get STEAMING P.O'ed!!! :censored: I will type EXACTLY what is written. Also click on the attachment, as I have enclosed a scanned pdf file of the sheet from Ford. Scroll down, to the highlighted block. Its what I wrote below. Just in case you want to see it in person.

Production cut on Shelby GT500. To date, 1,700 GT500s have not been scheduled and the plant only had the capacity to build 2,000 for the 2010 MY (model year). If you signed the agreement, you are guaranteed 1 Shelby GT500 for the model year.

So, that is why I am SO IRRITATED!!! I could sell 3 more GT500s right now if I was able to (2 to friends in my Mustang Club and another from a referral of the young man who bought our 1ts 2010, which was a Grabber Blue GT). For any dealer that has 2 cars already, they are LUCKY!! With 1,700 cars still unscheduled, the chances of a dealer getting more than 1 is slim to none, and I highly doubt any dealer will get more than 2, if they already have 2 (this change happened today). The only way you'll see this, is dealers buying them from other dealers. So anyone who may be waiting, you better start surfing Ebay and snagging a car. This car is "technically" collectible and not anywhere as available as the 2007/2008 or 2009 model year. Sorry for the bad news everyone. I just wanted to give everyone the heads up on this, so you all have the proper information, if your dealer you have one ordered from hasn't been upfront with you about the status of your car. Thanks for reading the post.

Added by Robert Lane. 09 July, 12:15pm, PST: I spoke with Ford Motor Company and to clarify, there has been no change in Shelby GT500 production for 2010.

Now that's what I'm talking about! Hard facts, not good news but apparently factually accurate. After I told my Sales Manager he was stupid in so many words by asking ADM it could come to pass that the owner was in fact accurate with his assessment.
Thanks for the insight.

Yes it is, and I tried to post this info before your thread Steve, but I was still on the floor here at work and didn't finish my post before your thread was started. So I went ahead and did my own anyhow and added the link for proof.

The only thing this is going to do, is make dealers that have these in stock add STUPIDLY HIGH ADMs on them which isn't good :( !!!

Not 100%, but close. If the dealer you ordered from hasn't ordered any 2010 GT500s yet, you will get their only GT500 for the year. If your number 2, or 3 or whatever, I would say yes you are, sorry to say :(

Thanks for the nice words Cobra. Its what I have been doing on TMS for years. By no means do I mean to step on MM's toes, but since the info was with me, I figured I'd post it quick for everyone to know about.

Not in the market, but as usual, thanks for the info/insight Jeff.

OBTW, while Jeff doesn't own a Shelby, he does have some nice CS67 Shelby Wheels :D

Good for the guys that actually end up with one though. That's a lower production # than the 08 Shelby GT!

Might it be b/c dealers still have plenty of unsold 08s and 09s sitting on their lots?

Do you think this is due to the rumored Aluminum block?

My order sheet says "Order No : 0001 / Priority 010". Is that what you're referring to with the "2 or 3 or whatever" comment?

I do not think that this would have anything to do with it but I could be wrong.

I still got the damn "HID" delayed story until August. My dealer sucks! Ooooo big whoop "We bumped you up the list. The lady was in to tell us..." this and that.

I told my sales guy, I send you pictures off my camera and window stickers of cars sitting on lots or in dealer connection inventory systems that cars with HIDS are on the lots. "I'll even show you the rust rear pumpkin."

OMFG!!!! I need bbcode for a big middle finger, but this will do for now :censored:

Well I wonder if we will ever get ours built?

I've had two ordered since Jan 9th and they both still sit showing on material hold.

The last update I got was they were going to start scheduling these and pull orders based on the oldest ones sitting in the order bank. That was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't heard anything since.

We did sign the enrollment form, so we should at least get one for 2010. Just have no idea when!

They are scheduling mustangs for August build right now, so who knows how long before we ever get ours scheduled!

What I mean by the 2 or 3 or whatever comment is if your car is the 2nd or 3rd ordered by a dealer.
