Ok, on to the bad news!!! Our Ford rep is here today, so we can order our August Wholesale. With that, she gave our Fleet Manager (he orders most of the cars) and our Dealer, and myself these sheets that show important build information for each model line (things like new packages, limits on what is available, dates on when things start buying/building, like the 2010 Taurus). Well I look at Mustangs and get STEAMING P.O'ed!!!
Production cut on Shelby GT500. To date, 1,700 GT500s have not been scheduled and the plant only had the capacity to build 2,000 for the 2010 MY (model year). If you signed the agreement, you are guaranteed 1 Shelby GT500 for the model year.
So, that is why I am SO IRRITATED!!! I could sell 3 more GT500s right now if I was able to (2 to friends in my Mustang Club and another from a referral of the young man who bought our 1ts 2010, which was a Grabber Blue GT). For any dealer that has 2 cars already, they are LUCKY!! With 1,700 cars still unscheduled, the chances of a dealer getting more than 1 is slim to none, and I highly doubt any dealer will get more than 2, if they already have 2 (this change happened today). The only way you'll see this, is dealers buying them from other dealers. So anyone who may be waiting, you better start surfing Ebay and snagging a car. This car is "technically" collectible and not anywhere as available as the 2007/2008 or 2009 model year. Sorry for the bad news everyone. I just wanted to give everyone the heads up on this, so you all have the proper information, if your dealer you have one ordered from hasn't been upfront with you about the status of your car. Thanks for reading the post.
