Hey all. Several of us have been discussing this using PM's, so I thought I'd post it and see what everyone thought. How can we mount a front license plate on the Terlingua (CS6) front fascia? Anyone have a solution outside of drilling holes in it? This is a great post,

http://www.teamshelb...mp;#entry759540

about mounting a Craigs Bracket on a SGT/SC but not sure if it will work on the Terlingua as I have no car (yet) to look at....any thoughts? Thanks all...

Rob (Leann's better half lol)

Tasca folks have the same request from me too. Maryland is a 2 plate state and the local county police are pretty strict about it.
Plus my son will be driving it to school and the local school resource officer is in the parking lot every morning.

Last time I asked about it they were looking about for what hard points to use to mount one on the fascia.

I used powerstrips on my GT500 and Astrid's car. It is from Tesa, but 3M has it too. The license plate holder is taped to the fascia. I bended the holder so it follows the lines.

Blip, this would be great if Tasca could fab something up. Please keep us advised...

Hi Patrick! Are the "powerstrips" like Velcro? Are you concerned with air, at speed, taking the plate off? Your plate is longer and shorter than my state plate. I'm somewhat worried about blocking or limiting air flow into the intercooler...I wish our state plates looked more like the Euro plate you have lol....

I rubberband my front plates to the passengers side visor. Haven't had a cop give me grief yet.

No it is not Velcro. It sticks very strong and it is removable too. Max 1,5 kg so it can hold a lot. No problems with blocking air flow with your plates. There is enough space.

I did 170+ with mine and it sits perfect.

This may be the answer everyone...but, I've not seen this in stores here...anyone seen it, or is this a European product?

Hi all,

There is a custom Bracket out there to mount the front plate, I have it on my SGT.. it mounts between the foam and bumper brace, if you need to see photos PM me and I will foward them accordingly.. I will also try to find the link to the guy that makes them, they are powder coated and an exceptional product.

thanks gbstang, but the bracket you have apparently does not fit our cars without heavy modification. The Terlingua has a lower grill insert that prevents mounting in that location....but, hey thanks for your effort :happy feet:

With a grill insert I still think you could use this.. I think the "Arms" could go through the Lil holes in the insert..
I know this bracket will dissasemble for this nicely.. Another option would be to trim the very top of the insert off, just wide enough to get the
bracket through.. I only say this as I am no stranger to making mods.. Personally I am surprised CAI have not made
the insert this very same way. If you did trim off the top (just wide enough for the bracket) I do not think it would devalue your ride..
the last option is to trim one and keep a second insert as an original spare, just a thought.. Get your spares while they are still cheap!

I had thought about trimming the grill to fit the bracket in, just not sure you can get up under there to attach everything...another Terlingua owner bought one of the brackets, and sold it due to this...oh well...

I could forward some really ggod pics of mine installed if you like?
My guess is the front bumber and lower section (aside from the insert) should be the same
so if you did trim it then it should work,,,let me know the Pics are easy..

Hi All,

I checked with Craig who thought the lower grill would be a problem or need to be left out if i understood correctly I would check with him, but seems we still are SOL.

I believe I will go with Spr Snk's idea and just rubberband it to the driver's side visor showing out. I also am considering attaching it to the bra.

Any other solutions please share! :headscratch:

Haven't heard anymore from them this week, but it's on the top of my question list.
Will post whatever I find out.

When I asked Craig about the bracket and the SHR lower grill insert, he responded:

"Hey Frank,
I have a few customers who have been able to install the bracket with the
billet grill insert but I'm not sure if it will work with the plastic mesh
insert. Here is a pick of the billet grill on a GT with the bracket."

Thanks for the info Frank...I think this will work...if it's possible to get in underneath the fascia to mount it... :headscratch:
