Hey Guys,

I've been thinking about for a while and I've made the decision to let my baby go. It's a black 07 GT - California Edition. It's got the gauge package and door sills installed. I just had the car professionally detailed and it looks better than new. Unfortunately, its been a garage queen with just over 4500 miles on it. I drove it to the 85th Birthday Bash and other than bringing it home from Hollister, CA., all of my miles have been local here in sunny San Diego. The only mod I've made to it is the "Berg" cap on the rear and I had the air bag signed. I've put it up on craigslist for 28K, but I'd be willing to cut a sweet deal for anybody from here.

Here's a link for more pics:

Thanks,

Mike

Mike,

Not sure I have ever heard of a SGT California Edition. The closest to that was, I thought, the 2008 GO cars. What is the criteria for it to be a California Edition? BTW, the car is beautiful. It must be killing you to part with it.

Shelby put together about 200 of them in '07 that were sold through northern CA dealers. They added the 3 auxiliary gauges and later on, they sent us out the special door sills.

Here's a commercial for them:

Yes, it was a tough decision but its time to let go.

Mike is right. This is the car I really wanted when I first started shopping, but I couldn't find a Nor-Cal dealer with any black CA edition SGT's left. So I went with the VB instead (and love it now). Man if I had the extra dough, I'd be all over this. Good luck with the sale Mike!

Yep, that someone who got the good deal was me. I finally
got off the fence to join you guys. I was actually going to wait
until early next year, but being an ex-Californian, that
CA Edition got me sold. Note: I do have a garage to
keep the nasty New England weather away from it. So I'll
be just as nice of a caretaker as Mike has been.

Congrats to you Tom, and Mike, sorry you had to let her go...

I looked back in this thread to see where I posted that car, and it was on Dec 31, 2007. It was for sale at the Tiffany Ford, which is the oldest Ford dealer in California, which is about 8 minutes from where I live.

Enjoy the CA. Edition,

Have Fun

Thanks.

In another twist on the whole "it's a small world", I went to High School just
over the pass from you in the Valley (Los Banos). So I'm shipping even
a little bit more of my past back to me. Nice note about Tiffany Ford; something
else to file about the history of the car.

Oh, and as far as coincidences go, Mike and I share the same birthday: 10/01/65.

Thanks, Ken.

Actually, its folks like you, Cali_KR, and others in these forums that makes
the decision to buy a Shelby very easy. Don't get me wrong, I'm just as
nutty about all the history and tradition of the Shelby brand. But seeing how
much y'all care about your cars and how it's shared in these forums makes
it such a valuable asset. I don't post a lot (since I didn't have a Shelby), but
I do read a lot here (such as your Novi install). So I feel about as informed
as I could be about this purchase. Even after trolling though hundreds of
hood scoop posts. :hysterical:

So I look forward to joining TS and contribute more to these forums. FYI,
my racing background is autocrossing, where I plan to start with the SGT.
However, track days and drag sessions is where I intend to expand with
this car, so I'm sure I'll be asking for your advice at some point.

Tpow96,

Congrats on the new car and joining the Team Shelby family!

There's a Mustang show at Tasca Ford in Cranston, RI on Sept 12th. A bunch of us "New Englanders" will be there!

Thanks for the heads up! I'll check with the wife and put it down on the
calendar.

Are you bringing both Mustangs?

I'll just be bringing the Shelby for this one... I'm in the process of doing some minor work on the '66, so its not quite ready for the show circuit!
