I was at a cruise night last night and met a nice guy and his wife, names now escape me I had a few beers, in a black SGT. Over the winter he used 3M Aluminum Restorer and 0 Steel wool, and cleaned his valve covers. Didn't even take them off!

Anyway....I found my new winter project!

That is very sharp

I agree...another winter project. I think I may pull mine off and see if I can clear coat when I am done. Otherwise you will need to keep touching it up as time goes on.

Thanks for the tip.

Looks good. I would have a hard time getting my fat fingers into all those hard to reach places.

I just finished up the right side cover this afternoon. I ended upulling the valve cover off the engine to make the task easier. It sure looks a lot better now.

I will do the left side on Wednesday night.

That does look great...but for the long term purist owners, I can just see us trying to reverse the process in 20 years to bring it back to factory show room stock. what the heck, I'm going for it!

Looks fantastic.. I'm waiting to get my daily driver back, then project #1 will be pulling the valve covers and painting them red.

I pulled mine off my SGT the 2nd day but I went to the extent and wet sanded and polished them to a mirror finish... Took some time but the end result looks great...
