Hi all!!!!!!!

As mentioned before, I will be running this years poker run. :happy feet:

First off, I can tell you this............. we will NOT run the same route as last years!!!!!!! I did a trial run and Lake Shore road is STILL NOT FIXED!!!!!!! i cringed everythime a rock bounced off my inner fender panels. I was already commited (ok, no jokes here LOL :hysterical: ) so I kept going. I think there were 2-3 stretches that were only dirt and gravel. Geeeeeeessssss, ya think it would be fixed by now? I guess our high priced plate tags didn't go to that part of the country :jackinbox:

So, I will be making another run this weekend to check out another route. Now, I believe that yall (here's to you MM LOL) ran through the Valley of Fire, but did not make any stops---just did a drive by. If you did, then you truly missed one beautiful place.

So I'm thinking about heading north a bit, then take the back road down and then into the Valley of Fire. I will make sure that this part of the trip has no surpises---road wise. Then we'll go into the park and we will have some stops at some really cool spots!!!!! All of these stops will not be abusive to the vehicles!!! (I hope :))

I am also going to try and make this fun for all too. There will be some surpises and I am hoping to make it a bit different too. I just need to work out some details.

The one thing that I do not know is, when you filled out your reservations, did it ask if you were doing the poker run? This way I can try and get a count of how many people are going to do this event. Plus it will give me an idea of how many decks of cards I will need and how many little surprise prizes I can throw in (I may need to raid the closet LOL).

If there was no place to fill in that info, maybe if you could email me Bud's email addy to let me know. This way I can try and get a count too.

And please remember.....this is NOT a race!!!! Take your time and enjoy the sites!!!! You may even see some cool wild life out there. If you look close enough on the hill, you will see some of the wild life I saw there 2 weeks ago!!!

And you should be sure to tell everyone that they are NOT allowed to do a drive by and shoot the Bighorn rams in the picture!

Count me in, Sarah, Savannah and I were the lucky ducks who won last years Saturday Poker Run. :hyper:

Nice pictures of the big horns.

I'll be in a rental again.

I signed up for the track and the poker run so you can do both if you want. The Poker run was the first half of the day, then I went to the track after lunch.

Bud when are you going to SC that Beautiful Blue beast?

Well, I am taking my wife to Mequite this weekend for her birthday. I am planning on spending a couple dollars on the Mega Bucks machine. If I hit it, I will be doing the WHipple S/C and some other things. If not, she just may have to wait a little longer. Either way, I just love my car!!! :)

As for the Poker Run, as long as you have signed up for the Bash, you can do the Poker Run. There is no additional charge to do this. And if anybody wants to lend a hand and work one of the stops (to check people in and give them their card), LMK and I'll put ya on the list of help :)

Thanks!!!!!!!!

will there be 2 runs like last year, on each track day?

(was the run put together for day 1 just slapped together for those not racing and the day 2 was the official poker run?, I dont know!)

this past Jan I signed up to race, did that on day one while others did a run, I did the poker run in the morning of day 2 and then raced the afternoon of day 2....

and weather will effect peoples decision to race or do the poker run or not as well.......

According to the posted schedule, there will only be one run on Saturday morning. Starting at 8am till? If another one is needed due to weather conditions, I will check on it and "slap" something together :)
