As mentioned before, I will be running this years poker run.
First off, I can tell you this............. we will NOT run the same route as last years!!!!!!! I did a trial run and Lake Shore road is STILL NOT FIXED!!!!!!! i cringed everythime a rock bounced off my inner fender panels. I was already commited (ok, no jokes here LOL
So, I will be making another run this weekend to check out another route. Now, I believe that yall (here's to you MM LOL) ran through the Valley of Fire, but did not make any stops---just did a drive by. If you did, then you truly missed one beautiful place.
So I'm thinking about heading north a bit, then take the back road down and then into the Valley of Fire. I will make sure that this part of the trip has no surpises---road wise. Then we'll go into the park and we will have some stops at some really cool spots!!!!! All of these stops will not be abusive to the vehicles!!! (I hope
I am also going to try and make this fun for all too. There will be some surpises and I am hoping to make it a bit different too. I just need to work out some details.
The one thing that I do not know is, when you filled out your reservations, did it ask if you were doing the poker run? This way I can try and get a count of how many people are going to do this event. Plus it will give me an idea of how many decks of cards I will need and how many little surprise prizes I can throw in (I may need to raid the closet LOL).
If there was no place to fill in that info, maybe if you could email me Bud's email addy to let me know. This way I can try and get a count too.
And please remember.....this is NOT a race!!!! Take your time and enjoy the sites!!!! You may even see some cool wild life out there. If you look close enough on the hill, you will see some of the wild life I saw there 2 weeks ago!!!

Thanks!!!!!!!!
Bud
ps. DO NOT FORGET YOUR CAMERAS!!!!!!
