So when I found this picture looking for the traction control clip, it made me ask, was there a standard plug used by Hertz for the cig lighter? I'm guessing not really, as I've seen quite a few different ones. What came with your car? Mine was missing, but I've seen some with the no smoking symbol on them and others. This is the first that I've seen this one, and this was a rental picture.

209 came with a standard plug.
235 came with the non smoking
235 convertible came with the standard plug.

was in florida in july came across one that was still in rental fleet had the non-smoking plug so i asked the guy if i could have it, he said i don't care it is a rental so i took it for 235 convertible. so both 235's match.

The cars came with the standard Ford plug. Somewhere along the line Hertz changed many to the non smoking plug. If this change was done at each rental location that would explain how some got changed while others didn't. Just depended on the location and how thorough they were.

My guess is they all came with the standard Ford plug and some got changed or lost. Mine had the standard Ford plug. I put it in a safe place and switch to the Shelby plug.

I've secured a non smoking plug and an original Ford one, but I also use the aftermarket chrome plug with the black Shelby snake center.
