I hear Team Shelby members talk all the time about their love, respect and admiration for Mr. Carroll Shelby. I read the posts that exhibit these traits constantly.
It is no doubt that we are all proud to own Shelbys, proud to be part of this family called Team Shelby, proud to be associated with this legend of Racing and Automotive History.

The Team Shelby Run on Jan 7th, 2010 begins in Gardena, California, the home of The Carroll Shelby Foundation. The charity born of the humbling medical experiences of Mr. Shelby, a charity started in order to help those with children facing these same dire circumstances. It is obvious, like all other endeavors of Mr. Shelby, that he has given all of himself to this charity to make it successful and he understandiblily takes great pride in the work accomplished there.

What better way to show our love and respect for Mr. Shelby than by supporting this wonderful cause. This cause that he has so much passion for. ........Passion I feel we all share.

I am asking all those attending the Team Shelby Run in Jan to consider making a donation to the charity that day. We will put all our individual checks together and give them to Jenni from the CSF or to Robert & Sharon or to Mr. Shelby himself if he is present. The last 2 years I started a similiar thread on this forum and together we collected over $3500 for the charity. Each and every contribution was made out directly to the Foundation and each individual contributor received a receipt for their donation from the CSF in the mail afterwards.

I ask that each and everyone of you reading this post, to please consider making a donation to the Carroll Shelby Foundation. If you are attending, you can simply write a check directly to the Foundation and bring it with you to the event. If you are not attending, you can make a check out to The Carroll Shelby Foundation and send it to me ahead of time. I'll bring them along with me to give that day along with all the checks brought by those attending. Attending or not, we can all stand together to supoort the Man and his wonderful cause.

I know we are in tough economic times, I only ask that you try to make a donation however small, however large, to this wonderful cause. Donations to be presented to the Charity on a weekend when we Toast the 2nd Anniversary of Team Shelby, when we gather to celebrate the Birthday of The Greatest American Racing Driver and builder of the World's Most Incredible Cars, for not only living his dream, but allowing us to share in it.

I know many of us have made donations in exchange for his signature. But this is something different, this is for nothing in exchange but helping make another dream of Mr. Shelby's come true.

Please stand with me now to show our gratitude for what Mr. Shelby has accomplished, for what we all share in together as the appreciation for those accomplishments and help those who are less fortunate.

I thank you all for taking the time to read this and hope that we can all stand together to help make more of Mr. Shelby's dreams come true.

Many of you know that my wife and I donated one of our Barrett Jackson Limited Edition Shelby GT/SC cars, with proceeds to the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation (now the Carroll Shelby Foundation) at the Barrett Jackson auction in January 2009. The winning bid was $72,000 with all proceeds to the foundation.

We are proud to be supporters.

Thank you Sherri, you indeed did, however the only other person to come through was herpony68, Helaina.
Thank you Helaina and Ron. One other person gave me a check and that was it.
(Forgive me for non recollecting exactly who the third person was, I cant seem to recall it at the moment,
my sincere apologies to you for me not properly remembering).

I had a family tragedy I was dealing with long distance during the Bash weekend and was unable to solicit
additional donations for the charity.
Thank you to the 3 people that actually followed through on your committment without me having to
search for you. I appreciate your dedication to the cause.
