I found a fuel leak where the fuel line meets the rail, so I pulled the line apart and found that one of the o-rings had broken.

Ken,
Great news that you found the problem's source.
Can't wait until you put everything back together and give us an update after a road test.
Is it unusal that the o-ring broke?

I've given this line a bit of a workout over the past year from installing new fuel rails, uninstalling them, installing them again, removing the intake a couple of times, and other misc projects. Now I know to keep an eye on these everytime I pull this thing apart.

The oil was due so I dumped it. I found a peanut sized chunk of metal attached to the magnetic drain plug.
After I finish freaking out, I'll post some pics in a new thread.

Pull the oil filter, cut it open, spread out the media and check it for metal particals.

What do you suggest cutting it with?

Dude...

Oil filter...punch a hole it in and use a set of tinsips. Or a can opener...I do it every time...

OK thanks. I'll get some pics up of the inside of the filter when I can.

I realize winter means cooler ambient temp's - but - what is vapor pressure and why does it need to increased for winter. Never heard of butane in gas before, must be a Ca. thing?????

With the cooler overall temps, an increase in vapor pressure will allow complete combustion and keep emmissions lower. I'm not sure if this a California only thing, or not.
I will talk with the Engineer again to get a better/more complete understanding of the reasoning...

Cooling a liquid lowers the vapor pressure which make the fuel more "dense". This messes up your volumetric efficiency (fuel to oxygen ratio) and the result is poor performance.
